Great work, good read man. You're what keeps me coming back to this site.
But it's the Atlantic now, not the Northeast |

Great read.. I think they might surprise us more than people think this year.. Buffalo pride is at it's highest right now.. Maybe it invigorates this team.. I'm just glad hockey is back!! |

That's only allowed if we just miss the playoffs but still win the lottery so we get the first pick.

Michael Pachla: Buffalo Sabres 2014-15 Preview
2014-15 Sabres preview - Michael Pachla
Good stuff Boosy - agree with all of this with the one note that Philly's goaltending was actually decent last year... but then if Mason repeats this year it'll be a rare piece of stability in net for that franchise. |

When I say I think we'll be decent I mean that the games will be more competitve and entertaining, but I still think we come out on the losing end more often than not.
It's still a bottom 5 team, but I don't know that I'm willing to say they'll be the worst. - HonkFortheGoose
We are on the same page, I just want some decent hockey while we rebuild. To me a playoff push now will completely (frank) up all the work we have done. I want them to lose but at the same time compete. |

I think you guys are going to be unfortunately for you more competitive than you think but not enough to make it. A lot of it will hinge on your goaltending. |

so i know nobody likes milbury but i just saw i story in which he said fighting should be completely removed from the sport. i dont think it should be at all as it could change the tone and momentum of a game plus give a guy who took a cheap shot at a teammate a few licks. Any thoughts? |

I don't listen to him any more. He is the purest definition of a hypocrite. He was the player who jumped into the crowd and went after someone with a shoe, now he wants fighting out of the game. Fighting will always be a part of this game, even if you try and get rid of it you can't undo something that has always been a part of the game. |

The NHL should be doing everything in their power to remove him from the sport. |

Milbury only wants fighting if it's him vs a 14 year old kid. He's a disgrace to the sport. |

Halak played 52 games last year and Johnson looked good so far in preseason minus the last game where we iced something like 6 nhl players. Injuries can always cause a team issues, but I feel a lot better with what we have now. I'm still predicting 3rd in the division as a high and a wild card spot as a low. We'll see what happens. |

Anyone know what channel the game will be on for DirecTV? I don't see 638-1 in my guide. |

no worries...it works - Michael Pachla
Now lets win tonight, every game against the Leafs, Bruins, and Islanders and lose the rest of the games 5-4.
I want a more exciting season but McEichel |

Oh I was talking about our goaltending, sorry I think I misread you.
I'm on record saying the Isles had a nice offseason. I don't know if it's enough, honestly I hope it isn't (let's be honest) - but if we want a good pick this year our own record is the best path towards it. |

This.
The moves the Islanders made makes them a bubble team for the playoffs. But it is a long season, anything can happen.
It all depends on the Sabres record when it comes to having a top 2 pick this year. |
