NHL Commissioner Gary Bettman will be in Buffalo on Monday, The News has learned. He is scheduled to have a joint afternoon news conference with Mayor Byron W. Brown, followed by an appearance at the game between the Sabres and Anaheim Ducks in First Niagara Center.

The purpose of the visit is not yet known, but the news conference is not in connection to a Winter Classic, a team source said. League officials had no comment.
