It's funny -- Snow got eviscerated for the entire Thomas Vanek deal, and in some ways, it was maybe deserved.

But if I read correctly, what he wound up flipping Vanek for, to some degree, is what he paid for Boychuk

Joe Colborne, up in Calgary. It looks like he might've finally grown into his frame, and while I don't think anybody's confusing the Oilers for the 1995 Devils, I'll tell you what: Colborne looked like a man amongst boys on some of those shifts

I mention that for two reasons: It's funny if he does develop late, because Toronto moved him and they still want that kind of big center, and also if he becomes a real player, Calgary might not be as far away as some people might think

I think they could maybe stack it Bennett-Monahan-Colborne down the middle, if things work out -- Monahan looks legit (he's set and forget; looks like he's playing for 15 years), Bennett's obviously hurt but he's only 18.

Colborne's an...08, maybe? So that'd make him, what...24?

It rarely works out that simply, but if Bennett does what the scouting reports say he can do...
