Better moment: Giroux first shift of game 6 against Pens or last years field goal return against bama?
- PhillySportsGuy

The terrible thing about that field goal is that my dad and sister were at the game and I could have been, but I was in Nashville watching the Flyers play (tickets I bought before Auburn had any expectation of being good).

I would probably have to pick the field goal return on that. Though the Bruins-Flyers comeback series is my top sports moment.

They'll finish #3 from bottom and then fall a spot when the Canes win the lottery

That sucks that you missed it. I remember watching it live at my parents house. I was trying to explain to my mom how crazy it was and how rare it is to see that. She didn't seem to care.

I got to see it on tv in the hotel because the Flyers game started after it ended. Also, I got to see the Flyers win a shootout which is just as rare.

I remember that game. VL scored in the shootout and weber didn't play.

How would you rank Sec west?

I'll be able to do that better after this weekend. Right now, I would say Auburn, Ole Miss, Miss St., Alabama, Texas A &M, LSU, Arkansas

I would go miss st in front of ole miss. I don't trust Bo Wallace. I don't think I've ever seen a conference division this good ever

Look forward to the annual time when Snider ventures down to give the team a good ol' talking to, and for the boys to play better or else.

It is a real pleasure watching Wayne Simmonds so far. He is turning into a legit top six winger before our eyes.

No doubt he always had great strength and skill in front of the net on the PP.

His 5 on 5 play though is starting to shine.

A guy in here who I respect a lot always said Wayne was no more then a good third liner.

I think Wayne is proving that wrong, and it's a joy to see.

That's all I've got.

Haha!

Two games into the season already down their top two dmen, and 0-2. Good to see this franchise not disappointing.

Man, 90 percent of the goals Patrik Elias has scored against the Flyers have been unacceptable

I'm dead serious when I say this: I can't wait for that bastard to retire

- AllInForFlyers

Luke gets a bad rap. His partner left him hanging all night and the forwards were horrible. I was surprised at the amount of ice time for the pair. To me the problems from last year still have not been addressed. And I thought they were supposed to be in great shape and ready to skate this year....

Last night's game does not bode well for the rest of the month with how difficult the sched is.

I was thinking this morning, last year, they had reasonable talent on the back end, and just started poorly.. once they got going, they weren't a bad club at all. This year, I just don't think they have the horses on D... I don't call for a knee jerk move by Hexy, but he may need to make a move (UFA from the scrap heap) and if another Dman goes down here, he will have no choice.

Completely agree.. Wayne just keeps improving and he's a real catalyst for the rest of the team. Really happy they are recognizing this with giving him an A.. I think it's very fitting.

One lineup change I'd make for tomorrows game is Jones in and Raffl out. IMO, Raffl has had 2 very poor games in a row.

I skimmed thru the game when I got home last, thankfully I didnt have any nightmares. As I've said for a long time, folks can rip Coburn all they want but he plays a vital role on this team. If he is out for more than a few weeks, the Flyers will be in the draft lottery.

And Im ok with a lottery pick this year. I have been for about two years now. We need to start trimming the fat, especially on d and get younger and hungrier. I much rather live through another two years of growing pains especially on the back end instead of watching players with minimal talent to begin with get older and older and lose their limited abilities infront of our eyes.

Yeah Coburn's not perfect, but he's a top 4 dman. Sometimes I can't believe that in the space of a few years, we've gone from having Pronger, Timonen, Coburn, Carle, Mesz to what we saw last night. Having Timo and Coburn as your 1 /2 pair isn't perfect but it's serviceable. Removing those two and it's horrible.

If another guy goes down and is not replaced with NHl ready D... then this could be a horrible month that we won' recover from.

Some of these guys are still young/inexperienced/new, but those excuses have to hit an expiration at some point, right?

And then some of these other guys... just aren't good hockey players.

Hate scapegoating and been a Luke schenn guy but if there's any way hextall can move him now's the time.... We have seen zero improvement from him and I'm doubting he ever becomes more than a 4th shutdown guy
