What do you mean by that ? You ice your best players in any situation like a pk or a pp Pairs has nothing to do with it imo as Zidlicky was out there on the pp with Severson for at least one instance. Gelinas is out most effective pp weapon he needs to be given the best chances of just about anyone when we are on the power play. I don't care that last night we came away with the W even though Gelinas wasn't on the first unit it will catch up to you and you should be trying to do everything in your power to make sure we have the best shot at winning games. Little things like not scoring on powerplays or not killing penalties because you don't have your best guys for those situations out there will result in losses. I just don't get the logic behind them constantly preaching the best players will play but then they don't even put the best pkers and power play guys out there its just stupid. If they had of came back in won I would certainly look back and wonder if we could of had an extra goal had we had our best power play weapons out when they face off is in the offensive zone instead of changing when the puck has been cleared and have to regroup. I know it seems minuscule but for a team that is considered a bubble team and has tremendous trouble scoring the last season you would think they would be at least doing the things they can control like putting the best guys out on the top unit.

I mean until pdb feels confident with severson it would be hard for him not to pair him with a vet and severson has shown offense ability and deserves pp time, if I saw correctly on the pp he was with greene and zid to have a vet with him if Philly got a short handed chance

I'm sure as the season goes on Gelinas will be used more on the PP

steven gionta is the best player on this team (In the entire NHL actually). We are so lucky to have him. let's continue to overexpose that fact that he clearly doesn't belong in the nhl by playing him pk against opposing teams most talented players.

I wouldnt say he deserved to be on the pp so badly that you wouldnt start Gelinas out there. No reason for a kid playing his first game to be on the first unit when you have other options.

You're right, But Stephen Gionta is alive and well taking faceoffs in our own end leading to goals with less than a second left. so sick of garbage players getting quality ice time over the last couple seasons. i would so much rather watch josefson lose a faceoff like that than gionta. at least then we're biting the bullet of a first round pick, not Brian's brother who has "speed"

My guess is that Severson sits when Larsson plays. It's a shame that either one of these guys or any of our other defensemen have to sit because of Sal. Just focus on him every time he's on the ice and count how many mistakes he makes!

Might of been but seriously like I said pp time usually isnt grueling minutes. You usually control the pace and unless your doing it wrong you shouldnt be flying around wasting energy if your a defense men and you shouldnt be ingauged in to many battles that wear you out.

He's so bad every time he chases a puck in the corner he gets there (If he beats a guy there) and only has enough time to chip it along either up the boards or around the net. It really is so sad.
