This has been happening for how many years and how many coaches? - LJF
OK. It's been three games. Time to Laviolette and dump Berube. |

It has. I'm not blaming the coach. I think they're not a very good team and they're playing an exceptionally tough stretch of games. - Jsaquella
Didn't mean to sound like I was saying you were blaming the coach, more It just frustrating as hell that this keeps happening.
It is a very difficult start to the season, but that is why they needed to win this game. Get them going. |

Same old over-reliance on rush-chances and the PP... the other team has the puck (way) more and they're basically invited to tee off on Mase/Razor at will and make the Flyers defenders do the cat/laserpen chase. - Tomahawk
Yeah, they get hemmed in and can't clear the puck for long stretches. They don't generate enough zone time, and honestly, it seems like they're already ignoring the talk about controlling the puck and carrying it into the zone more often. So often tonight they had guys headed into the zone and dumped it in when there was no need to do so.
They also give up the blueline so easily. It's not just MacDonald, who gets shredded for it, it's everyone. Right before the third Montreal goal, Grossmann got caught in no man's land trying to decide whether or not to pinch. Fortunately Streit picked up his man, but it led to zone time for the Habs.

Coots the only forward to hit 50% CF (exactly). Read, Umberger and Voracek the only other ones above 40%. Streit the only dman over 40%. Everybody else in the 30%'s and below.
No idea how you can expect to win w/ numbers like that. |

Guys have to be held accountable by the leaders on the team. The coach can have a hand in it, but they need both.
It's not eve the lack of compete, but the sheer stupid they display at times. They force so many low percentage plays. The Habs held them in the zone for so long because they knew where the Flyers were going to try to go. |

How do you expect to score if you're on the ice for 2/3rd more shots against than shot for? |

Took the wife to dinner tonight, because it's Saturday and that's what you do sometimes.
But we've been together long enough for her to make two comments when I checked the phone a couple of times:
"They're winning, aren't they?"
"They didn't just lose, did they?" |

I'm gonna go back and watch it, because that's what I do. But I'm gonna read this thread first, and if what I'm gathering from what Tomahawk's saying above is accurate, I'm probably gonna be really unhappy when I do |

Bit of both I guess.

I know it was a joke. But a troublesome trend. Teams need to compete for 60 minutes. The Flyers stopped competing in the third - Jsaquella
How many years and coaches have we seen the same theme repeat itself. Never a 60 min effort. Very troubling. |
