I think everyone here watches enough hockey to appreciate just how important FOs are, but outside of the regular viewers of this sport I've always found it fascinating how little importance is paid to this area.

I've never seen a stat on the average time it takes to recover the puck after a lost FO but it's a considerable amount of time and, as you note, we seem to be losing a lot of FOs.
