Would you trade B Schenn for Ladd straight up?

Would be nice in the short term but I'd probably see if I could trade both schenns for the disgruntled e kane. Prying him away would keep us young + fill LW.

Ek's reporting that the Flyers are "keeping tabs" on Tyler Myers. He's an overpayment waiting to happen, IMO.

I haven't watched a Buffalo game since we last played them so I don't have an opinion on how good he is, or how good he might be with a change of scenery. Just checking their stats so far I'm somewhat impressed he's even despite playing 25:25 per game.

But I only really bring it up to point out which former Flyers dman is already -5.

He's far from horrible, he's just inconsistent. The games I've watched-admitted not many this season-he's the type of guy that will make a great play with his physicality and size and look like a monster, then five minutes later he'll brain cramp and look like Nick Grossmann trying to keep up with Michael Grabner

You keep stating it because no one cares. In general - Luke is too slow and he lacks hockey smarts. He's just not worth the $3.6 million price tag.

I do agree you don't trade him for Postma though.

No that's not it. It's just too easy for some to blame Luke Schenn or just blame it on the defense. Rather then actually looking to see where the breakdowns actually are.

I really like Ladd a lot. But it's a little tough to swallow losing a two guys who are 23 and almost 25 for a soon to be 29 year old who will be a FA at the same time Couts and Voracek need extensions.

I agree.

Still don't see Postma as a lesser replacement. He's not an upgrade, but he's cheaper and a comparable level defender. Not the same kind of defenseman, but he's a 4/5 type guy as well.

I'm not sure I'd do it, either. More because fo the age difference between Brayden and Ladd than Luke being better than Postma

He's not comparable. Postma in a #6 defenseman. He's played 61 NHL games, and has yet to play a full season.

That's a really bad deal for the Flyers.
