nice brodin extension - DDM-Coga
Indeed. I am most worried about Scandella, now. I have a feeling he may be the odd man out after Granlund, Haula, Coyle, Folin are dealt with. He has quickly become one of my favorite players on this team... just sound all around. |

yeah he has turned into a solid dman, do you think they would move Spurgeon if they had to make room for Scandella? |

I would think so, seeing how size is a major concern throughout this roster. I know coaches and fo are high on Spurgeon, though. |

If Folin progressed more, and with Dumba around the corner, that could make him expendable. I said it before, but the Wild are going to be an interesting team to watch this offesason, lots of tough decisions and contract battles to keep all their RFAs, some will be long term deals, some bridge.

A guy like Coyle may need to be moved while his value is still somewhat high. Or if someone would take Koivu and his bloated contract off our hands, that would solve everything. |

I really like Coyle, I would love to be able to poach him,
Flames fans were suggesting Coyle for baertschi, that might be doable, they would have to kick in more bc Coyle has a high value as you said |

He could still be a stud. Would hate to see Calgary benefit from that. Especially in that deal...Wild get even smaller! |

Day after, cooler heads prevail. Roy and the Avs players clearly trying to enforce physicality on the ice to try to counter the speed and outworking of the Wild lines.
That being said, whether he hit with his elbow or not, after watching Johnsons hit over again, the main point of contact was Haula's head and Johnson clearly leaves his feet in a launch-like motion leading with his elbow.
Either way, not sure anything about the hit is defensible as a legitimate hockey play. That being said, it is what is and it's just one instance of many in what has become a pretty heated rivalry in the West. I'm satisfied with Johhson's on-ice punishment and anything or nothing else the dept of player safety deems fit to add on. Had Haula been injured I think I might feel differently but he was not so it's time to move on.

It was a nice embellishment by Haula. Johnson didnt even touch his head let alone with his elbow. As Johnson said this morning, Haula should be put up for an academy award for his acting. |

It's amusing how people see what they want to see. What I saw was Johnson launchinig himself at Haulas head leading with his elbow/forearm.
Sure looked to me like he made some sort of contact with his head. Whether it was light or heavy I can't really be sure because it wasn't me giving or taking the hit.
But I forgot how many experts we have here at HB who know with no uncertain terms exactly what went down just by looking at 3 seconds of a bang bang play.
But I digress.... as I said earlier, time to move on, because all that really matters at this point is the fact that the Av's look like the team that most of us thought they'd be last season. |

If Haula was really injured he should've stayed down on the ice just as Landeskog had said. He embellished the play, it's as simple as that. |

Nope... the only thing simple about it is that EJ left his feet and targeted the head. The rest is inconsequential. So you can keep focusing on what doesn't matter if it makes you feel better. |

Are you referring to the tough guy that was on the bench when it happened that came over to get his two cents in? Landeskog would be 10x the player if he actually chose to play hockey. Great talent, but he seems to get in the way of himself. |
