Maybe it's true, but why would Paul Reinhart open and run his mouth about how his son isn't happy and wasn't happy to be picked by the isles and all that? What does it accomplish? The Reinharts can bi*ch all they want to, Griffin isn't going anywhere. He might as well settle in and if he does have an attitude problem about being an Islander, he should do himself a favor and get over it and over himself.

I'm not saying XX is full of shat I just have a hard time believing that they would sit there and bad mouth the team and say how unhappy he is while they are watching his son's NHL debut. I'm just not buying it.

I wonder if they hope he gets the "Nino" treatment.
- David_Volek

Isles learned their lesson. The Niño thing blew up in their faces. That won't happen with Reinhart. He's under contract and restricted for many years. The isles are in a position of strength, especially if they extend Boychuk and Leddy. Griff better get his attitude adjusted or he's going to be real disappointed for the foreseeable future.

Then again, this could all be getting blown out of proportion. No player likes getting sent to the minors. Griff probably is disappointed Boychuk and Leddy were added, taking his spot for the beginning of this season. It's fine to be disappointed, but it's not okay to pout and complain.

I question it as well. Makes no sense and just puts the kid in a bad spot

Especially when Dad played in the NHL and has a working knowledge of how organizations, media and fans perceive things. But stranger things have happened in Islander country...

Did they say something about him not wanting to be drafted by us? That would prove that I have the skillz in the face reading dept.

lets beat the rags and make it 3 straight losses for them. Imagine Wed in Blue Skirt Country then.

Isles better be up for challenge. Rags will be desperate with the licking they took against Toronto.

I thought Hickey bashing was dumb. Stats say it all. he has been great ever since putting on isles jersey. For some reason everyone here you need to be 6Ft 5 and 230lbs to be a good defenseman.

I honestly don't think there was any "bashing" going on in reference to Hickey. What was always said was he gets muscled off the puck at times and he does.

Pulock had the best response when those two were added. He said if its good for the team then its good for me

I didn't catch that but that's the kind of attitude I love to see on this team. This comment has nothing to do with Reinhart. Just praising Pulock for his team-first mentality.

I'm not saying he did say it or didn't for that matter but who knows? I've been around players and their families meeting them randomly and you'd be surprised what they tell you. I've heard stuff that has blown my mind before that I never read in a paper. Maybe his dad had a few in him? Maybe his dad is a jackass with a big mouth, do any of you know? X doesn't seem like the type to invent something like this besides the fact he's like the biggest Ra Ra Snow/Islanders guy on here next to LetsGoIsles. I honestly still don't even know what was said because none of you stiffs have told me yet

maybe you watching different game, I haven't seen Hickey muscled off anything.
In Fact I have seem him deliver hard hits then anyone not name harmonic last year. I actually remember one game that Hickey got toasted and he was livid on getting beat that's who many few times it happened.
Hickey is +16 rating a team full of minuses last 2 years. That is telling you something.

Im sure the next post here will be if Bailey scores again, "I never disliked Bailey I just thought he wasn't playing to his potential. I always liked him otherwise and never wanted to waive him or trade him for nothing."

You've never seen Hickey get muscled off the puck? As far as Bailey goes I've never disliked him. I'm one of the few that wanted him on the team this year. He did show the same laziness that drew so much ire from most fans though in the preseason which made me more inclined to trade him. Also, I might add. I could care less if I'm right about being more patient with Bailey besides the obvious boost for the team. Being wrong about a player on hockeybuzz is not going to ruin my day nor do I expect accolades if I'm "right" about said player. Stop with your sarcasm if you got nothing to back it up with it's not funny. Really think about that bold and then answer that question.

I posted this on the last page for you. I guess you didn't see it?

Xx posted this after Friday's game. I think this is where that Reinhart talk started. Note the bold for you. []

Great game!! Sat next to a former NHL player... was told LOTS of stuff... none we really want to hear.. lets just say... not only did his Son not look happy when we drafted him.. but not happy that he's gonna be sent back to BP when Vis or DeHann come back.

XxNYIxX

Surprised you missed that. []

Reinhart will be fine.

Not really worried about it.

He will play this year in the NHL... might spend some time in the AHL.

Nothing wrong with that.

He will get 20 minutes a game in the A and only 10 minutes a game in the NHL.

Vis will not play a more than 50 games...

To be clear, I never said you were lying, only that I dislike it intensely when it's not clearly stated and hinted at. That bothers me. If they said something to you, I'd prefer that you say what was said, or nothing at all if you don't feel like writing it. The hinting crap pisses me off to no end.
