Myers is still very young and has been improving over the last year after a couple of down years. Stupid to trade him when his stock is low but on the rise. - muffin_man
This.
So far in 2 games he's averaged 25 min per game and has been on the ice for only 1 goal against. He's rounding out into a very, very good player |

Completely agree Like I said in a previous comment since Nolan took over he's been looking better practically every game so I think they're perfectly happy to hold onto him which is why the apparent price to acquire him is considered borderline ridiculous by some. I think they see him as part of their new core so it's only natural that they'd only want to move him for a pretty major return. |

I wonder if some of these teams looking for young d-men will inquire with NJ about Adam Larsson, who has yet to establish himself in the league, but is still only 21 years old and at the time of his draft was considered a "steal" at #4. The Devils already have more good young d-men than they know what to do with so I could potentially see them moving Larsson for an equivalent young forward. |

I REALLY hope they don't trade Myers. They'd be stupid to unless it's a huge overpayment. |

Continuing to let it leak out that they're talking about trading him is probably a bad way to do it though. Most of the guys problems are in his head and probably stem from the dysfunction he's endured with the Sabres. Treating him like Anaheim did Bobby Ryan for years is probably not good for anyone. |

The Sabres would be foolish to trade away Myers, I've been saying it for years now. It would be like Ottawa not keeping Chara. I really hope they don't succumb to this, he's finally coming back into his own. |

There's no proof it's the Sabres leaking it.
After the draft when it was rumored that the Canucks offered the 24th pick and a prospect for him, Murray basically laughed on air and said "We wouldn't have traded him for a top 10 pick let alone the 24th"
The rumors are there because he's our best player and we are rebuilding. That's pretty much it IMO |

Agreed. Same with Mantha being our best prospect by a mile. People like to start rumors based on skills it seems. Might as well say Ovechkin for Crosby or Weber for Subban. |

The Sabres want to make damn sure they get one of McEichel...the GM pretty much said so. |

No single defensemen is good enough to prevent that from happening right now. |

It hurts them more to let Myers go for a crap price than it does to miss McDavid or Eichel IMO. He's arguably their brightest spot on defense now and in the future. |

Somehow trade for Ryan Suter and Shea Weber. Bam. Best defensive pairing the league has. Problem solved. Cup contenders.. (frank) that, cup winners. Dual Conn Smythe winners. |
