Anaheim is a good trade partner. We have a need and assets. Gibson, Lindholm, ritchie are the youngsters off limits; probably Fowler too. So with that in mind, and no super-star (Getzlaf, Perry, Kessler) who does buffalo want?
I'm thinking its a Vatenen, and one of Etem, Smith-Pelley, karlsson
Could this deal get done with no picks? - Bombay1993

24 years old, 320 odd games , close to 150 points on a horrible team? - Jeropotato
Rumours at the draft were that they wanted Mantha+ for him from Detroit. Doubt many teams are looking to move their top prospect plus another asset for Myers.
Also raises a red flag that a rebuilding team like Buffalo is looking/wiling to move a 24 year old top 4 d-man under contract long-term. |

Murray has repeatedly said that they aren't shopping anyone, but they are listening to offers for anyone. Myers is the most attractive name on the Sabres.
If they wanted to trade him he would have been gone already |

Ok so when did Tim murrary exactly come out and say he's actively shopping Myers. I'm pretty sure since they are a rebuilding team everyone is available for the right price. |

I know Murray hasn't come out and said it, but most rebuilding teams would likely view a giant 24 year old top 4 d-man as basically untouchable, especially since they're already loaded with picks/prospects. Am I really that off in suggesting that he may in fact not be worth his asking price an there's a reason why his name has been floated out there before? |

Maybe he's available, maybe he isn't. Fact is if Murray wanted to get rid if him he'd already be somewhere else. |

Look how long it took Gillis to move Luongo, or Edmonton to move Hemsky. Sometime these things take time. |

I honestly don't think he's available. I think if the sabres are blown away by an offer they'd consider it, but there's no reason to move him |

From what I've read from current/recent GM's, some of the more significant "hockey" trades can sometimes take up to a year to finally get made in the league today. |

Fair enough. They do seem to want quite a bit for him. |

Are you kidding? Vatanen, Smith-Pelley and Karlsson not good pieces ???
You apparently were not watching the game today.... Take a look at the score sheet you should recognize some names then. If you had any elite prospects you wouldn't give them away that easily either so why shouldn't the ducks hold on to a few. Vatanen's name was rumored over the summer and it was noted by several scribes that a lot of teams were calling asking about him. |

Personally I'd rather trade for Tyler's brother, Oscar. Despite reports that he's a real hot dog, I'd still give him a shot. - eichiefs9

Except in number of cups overall, number of wins this year, goalie wise, and making it to the playoffs recently. |

They were playing against Buffalo, enough said.
You don't HAVE to give them away either, you just won't be getting Myers with their names alone....think about it for a minute, with the position we are in this season, unless a team overpays, Murray doesn't trade him at all and doesn't need to, the onus is on the other team to want it more, not Buffalo. |

Ek rumors = NHL 15 armchair gm's that weasel trades to the cpu for top talent. Half of the "offers" that are listed usually begin with "our failed prospects, baggage players, or aging has beens" for your player no matter who he is.
One dude got it right...stock is rising. 25 min dman in a 5-1 loss that played even +\-. Best bet would be to hold on to him since the veterans that we acquired will not be sold off for anything of value due to their poor play. Meszaros needs to park it. Benoit needs glasses.
Bring up strachan (sp?) and throw the Russian wrecking ball out there. Can't get much worse. Let McCabe heal and develop in The AHL some more. He looks promising.
Only highlight of the first 3 games with girg, foligno and Stewart launching bodies and flying around. They are a high energy line. |
