Hey if Pittsburgh can give up two 2nds for Doug Frankin Murray, anything is possible!
- BiggE
Exactly. Look at the stuff Buffalo got for Paul Gaudstad and Ott and Moulson and Vanek. |

VLC for Taylor Hall?? - BiggE
Hall, for what he does, is comparable to Claude Giroux with his ability to change a game for his team
Tragic that a player that good is locked into what he is up there |

I'm not sure either. It's a risk. I just think Luke is what he is and Brayden is a total enigma to me.
I see the talent and potential for him, but he just seems to lack confidence or something. I'd think getting a shot to play with Giroux & Voracek would light a fire for him. Seemed to do the opposite. - Jsaquella
I'm on the same page. I don't see Luke getting much better. Brayden, right now, looks like a player who's above average in most areas but doesn't excel in any. He's an ok finisher and shooter, decent at passing, so-so defensively, he can hit without jumping occasionally and he is a solid skater. If only he could do one thing really well. Then he'd be much easier to place. He's like a upper-middle class man's Nodl. |

I kind of think that. like Vinny, Schenn really only wants to play centre. If he was giving it his all on the wing and it still wasn't working out, I'd be better with it. I agree that he's not looked motivated on the top line..
I wonder if there is anything to this Myers talk? If so, not sure what we'd give up or if it would be worth it as he's struggled mightily the last few years.. - Hextall271
If that is indeed the case that Schenn only wants to play center and it is affecting his effort, HE NEEDS TO GO.
My god, he has been given the opportunity to play with Claude Giroux and Jacob Voracek. I don't care what position you prefer, he should be frothing at the bit to get that kind of opportunity. If you cant be motivated playing with those two, then you cant be motivated. |

Yeah, I'm a huge Taylor Hall fan. I watched a load of Oilers games when Torts was in Vancouver. |

Ouch.

I'm not so sure the F corps ranks that highly, either. - Tomahawk
I think they're a top-6 E.C. offense when all is said and done. |

I don't think it is an "OUCH". They want him a winger and his skill set plays to that so just keep him there. Also that is more of a 3rd line. We all no the Couturier line is the 2nd line |

They're trying to keep him at LW instead of shuffling him around. |

I didn't want to,think that, but I kinda believe that is what it is -- I think he wants to play center. Period. He doesn't want to play wing.
We've seen this before. Rod Brind'Amour wanted to play center. Chris Gratton wanted to play center. And sometimes, some guys just won't get it together on the wing, because they don't want to be there.
I do think that is what we are looking at. |

According to this Grossmann has twice as many turnovers as MacDonald this season, despite the fact he gets easier minutes, and considerably fewer minutes.
http://www.nhl.com/ice/pl...&viewName=rtssPlayerStats - Feanor
lol, twice as many is accurate, but i can also say its only 1 more... for a guy who is known not to be able to move the puck too well.
also turnovers and giveaways are judgmental numbers. there are no clear cut rules/guidelines to follow when they're scored. over a course of a season, it generally is a decent number to look, but in small sample size, there is know telling what Bob from the t-garden is scoring as a giveaway. for now i'll hold to my point that grossman is a smarter player.
i could be wrong. this is the eye test ya know. |

Brindy preferred C, but that didn't mean he went out and gave a poop effort when assigned to LW |

Well, the organization has sent him about as strong a message as they can send:
"Yes, we know our wildly overpaid '2nd line center' is hurt, but sorry, we're going to put in the 29 YO rookie import from Europe in his spot because we think you're a left wing whether you think so or not." |

If the Flyers are out of it at the TDL I actually see pieces that teams might want. Coburn, MacDonald, Vinny, Umberger, Schenn, Grossmann could all be moved. They could fill a need for a team going into the playoffs. We have all seen trades at the TDL and questions how team b got certain picks or players from Team A but teams do silly things when going into the playoffs. - J35Bacher
I hope to see this happen - too much dead weight on this team and I do think teams will want guys like VL and Grossmann in particular. I hope to see the schenn bros traded well before the TDL. |

Exactly -- he looks like Gratton out there. Gratton looked baffled on the wing, like he could just never figure out where to go or what to do, and it always looked like he thought because he couldn't, they should just put him back,at center.
I think Schenn is the same player.
Brind'Amour, as JSaq noted, could play wing quite well, and simply preferred not to. Schenn doesn't have the hockey sense or drive that Brind'Amour did, tbh |

I'd almost rather have Schenn's struggles be due to him just having trouble adjusting vs. him being a brat. The latter is just a disgrace. |

I think it can. Teams get a little wierd when thinking of going into the playoffs. Always seem to want a little more insurance incase injuries happen. |

I don't think any team will want to take on AMac or Umberger at the TDL with their deals. The only way that happens is if they have a huge spike in play, in which case, the Flyers are better off keeping them on. Also, if they trade Coburn, you're basically giving in to a full-blown rebuild, as no one on the team or in the system is ready to step in and fill his role, and that's a sad state of affairs. |

I see your point, but to be fair, it's going to slow his progress down a little and he'll likely drop weight (I'm guessing he'll have his jaw wired shut).
In the big picture, though....probably won't even remember this 2 years from now. |
