First of all I agree. That's a no brainer. But I haven't read much about trading giroux. - MJL
Sorry it was in a few posts earlier today. Forgot to hit update. |

He's best role is center, he looks lost most of the time at LW - ob18
I agree, but I'm not the coach. |

Feel free to try and show me how my opinion is off base. Instead of just making a blanket statement, I pointed out how I thought your opinion on MacDonald's contract was off base. - MJL
boston is 1 example. so please give your opinion how andy mac plays in their top 3. |

I agree. He just looks natural at center. He seems to not know where to be as a winger. The times I feel he's performed best are always at center. Like when paired with Jake in 2012-13 and with Hartnell and Simmonds last year. |

I'll probably make it to a game or buy a sweatshirt or hat. I didn't spend any money on them during the lockout year and may have dropped $60 during last season. This year I got GCL, but that's more for watching games when we travel than anything else. |

Just ride it out. Try to earn the playoffs, but know they've got some real talent in the future on the back end. They have their goaltender just coming into his prime. And they have young players up front that they have invested in and some are already blossoming (Simmer, Giroux, Voracek). Why not just accept what they are and know that in the next few seasons, with additional shrewd moves, they will be a contender? Everyone wanted them to go this route and are now complaining that they are meh team. Make up your minds. |

Man, looking around the league. LW has got to have the weakest depth of any position. Unless Hexy pulls off some highway robbery I dont think acquiring a quality top 6 LW is going to be pretty. |

Now that Boychuk is gone, MacDonald is comparable as a player to everyone of their other defenseman. Krug is a better offensive defenseman, and PP point man, but he's not better then MacDonald all around. He is also a comparable player to Seidenberg. And Hamilton may be better in the long run, but not at this point.
You have to look at the strong team structure that a team like Boston plays with. That goes a long way to making life easier on a defenseman.

Yeah. I don't remember there being so few LWs compared to other positions. It's strange. Makes the JVR trade harder to take |

His problem right now is not knowing where to be. But not working hard enough to get to where he needs to be.

Nothing concrete offered here. And yes to Columbus and NJ.
Seidenberg has been injury prone the last few years, and is in decline. Hamilton is very talented, but still very young. And he is not better then MacDonald at this point in his career.

With some juggling we might be able to make another RW work. We just really need to get away from thinking every center can transition to the wing.
I still think the Schenn's for Eberle makes a lot of sense both ways.
Simmonds G Jake
Read Coots Eberle
Umberger Vinny Raffl
Akeson Bellemare Rinaldo
You transition Simmonds to LW. I dont know how big of a deal that would be for him as he just parks it in front of the net anyway. |

so who is he beating on nj and columbus to play in their top 3?
how about the isles? who does he bump out there? |
