yeah noting concrete.
no he hasnt been injury prone the last few years. just last year. i dont care if he is in decline he is better today and tomorrow. i dont care that hamilton is young he is better today as well.
so who is he beating on nj and columbus to play in their top 3?
how about the isles? who does he bump out there? - rinaldo
I disagree. MacDonald is equal too if not better then Seidenberg. And he is better then Hamilton is now. Put MacDonald on that Boston team playing with Chara and that forward support, and he'd be a defenseman Flyers fans would covet.
It's obvious who he is beating out on NJ and Columbus.

With some juggling we might be able to make another RW work. We just really need to get away from thinking every center can transition to the wing.
I still think the Schenn's for Eberle makes a lot of sense both ways.
Simmonds G Jake
Read Coots Eberle
Umberger Vinny Raffl
Akeson Bellemare Rinaldo
You transition Simmonds to LW. I dont know how big of a deal that would be for him as he just parks it in front of the net anyway. - hereticpride
I don't think the Oilers would do that. They need better two-way players. Schenn doesn't really fit that description. I think they'd much rather part with one of their young guys like Yak or RNH for Couts. |

Move Simmer to 1LW... - Tomahawk
A possibility. I see this year as experimental anyway. It's like the freshman year at college. |

I don't see them trading RNH.

try again. i clearly stated he doesnt crack their top 3 on both of their teams. you refuse to give your opinion who he he plays ahead of on both of those teams. you dont want to answer, enjoy your night then.

Putting Simmonds, G and Jake on the same line really effects the depth of the team though. The top line would be beastly, but the rest of the lineup would struggle to produce points. |

I think you only move Simmonds up if you put a package together to get a real nice winger to carry the offensive load for line two.
That said Simmonds size and board play would be greatly welcomed on our top line. Puck control is always a little worrisome with him but I think that would make for a great first line. |

So then I'll state who I think MacDonald is as good as and where he can play, and then you state you think I'm wrong and blah, blah, blah>
You state that I refuse to give my opinion and I don't want to answer when I've made how many posts on the subject and what teams I think he can play in the top 3 for?
I think it's safe to say that we have a difference of opinion on MacDonald. |

I don't think you lose much of anything at all at ES... Simmer's not really a line-driver anyway. Allows Baby Schenn to shift over to the RW where he can have a better angle on net, and use that shot more from distance.

I agree. More important to have a balanced lineup. I'd rather leave Raffl on the first line then move Simmonds up there for that very reason.

I've never been crazy about Myers. IMO our assets could be much better utilized. - hereticpride
I've seen that guy look like a Norris Trophy candidate and the worst defenseman on the ice, in the same period, or the same game or the same week
He has immense talent, but holy cow, he'd drive a coaching staff crazy and, not to be harsh because I love this fanbase and I'm part of it, but a week of Tyler Myers As A Flyers Player just might break the internet

I think his board play would work well with Giroux |

Completely agree. You have to have balance throughout all your lines. As you stated it puts a burden on the other lines, but more importantly I feel, it puts tremendous pressure on your first line to carry the load. |

Simmonds has been pretty good at even strength this year. This team just needs better players across the board. |

Thats why I'm all about a move to get a guy that can tear it up on Coots' wing on the 2nd line. It helps take the pressure off G and the top line but also solves your issue with lack of size/strong board play on the top line. |

Lefty. The only righty in the system that could project to be more than a bottom-pair guy is Friedman. |
