Who's in net for Ana tonight? - Sms401
Andersen in goal again tonight, despite the 3-in-3/b2b. He only saw 12 shots last night but I'm still surprised Boudreau didn't get Gibson some work here.

Sean Couturier's zone starts: 10 O, 11N 23D
Yeah we want Couturier to give us more offense, but we're still gonna bury him in DZ starts |

What do you mean, teams score after starting in their own zone all the time, advancing 170-plus feet against five-man units and scoring against goaltenders who see you coming at even strength
He should have 23 goals.-- one for each defensive zone start

I've got a feeling someone is going to be sacrificed come noon tomorrow if we see a regulation loss tonight.
This team needs an affiliate in Western Canada. Medicine Hat or something. Somewhere where the trip is so long and so terrible that they'll have nothing to do except pray they never play poorly enough to go there again. |

Umberger (65%OZ), VL(69%OZ), Voracek (59%OZ) and B schenn(56%OZ) have had the best zone starts among all forwards.
As a side note, Jake and Giroux have awful advanced stat numbers thus far. Their numbers are very ugly. |

Neither has carried the puck with any authority and Schenn certainly wasn't helping. Bergeron punished them, too |

Coots is the chess piece to counter every teams top forward. Those teams generally give their best guys the most offensive zone starts. It kind of is what it is until Laughton replaces Vinny. |

Probably better site, but if you add face-off wins and losses, you can get the number. Tedious, but the info is there. |

That's player percentages. I'm talking about team totals. As in how many times have the Flyers as a team, started in the offensive zone.

L1 has had a tough go because Giroux got owned in faceoffs.in Boston, too -- quickest way to get railed in possession is to start without the puck

Then only a fool would demand more offense out of a guy, hamstring him with such a radically difficult set of zone starts and then blame the player for not producing. |
