Woof -- that is easier said than done, with this roster. You either have to play well defensively enough to give up fewer shots/chances, or transition the puck from defense to offense well enough to force faceooffs in the offensive zone, or preferably a combination of both.
Unfortunately, when you combine the Flyers' suspect passing and shot selection with thise two concepts, that is one heavy lift in trying to get more o-zone starts - AllInForFlyers
Maybe we could just tilt the ice surface. |

You have to think that when the Flyers have the lead, Couturier is going to see a lot of icetime. Not playing an entire 3rd period in your own end when you have a 3-0 lead, as they did against Montreal, would be a good start.

Step one is being able to get Grossman to play without a diaper.

The Sabres wore them out last night, allowing them to shoot so much.

I'm expecting a blowout.
And with the way things are going I'm expecting we see an injury as well. |

Needing an adult diaper didn't stop Berube from running Old Man Gill out there in the playoffs last year.

haha thats as good as any positive rationale i suppose.
the final score looked nice, and i was pretty happy with how the pens looked, but i think they caught a break with gibson letting in some softies.
kesler is such a perfect addition for that team. cant believe they acquired him for so little. |

Plebs like us should not hope to comprehend the mythical hockey genius of the great Craig Berube... - Tomahawk
I do feel like Berube's got only so many options with this forward group.
That said, he needs to be a bit more creative with the little bit of forward talent he does have.
At what point do we consciously uncouple Jake and G? |

i think amac is better than a lot of folks give him credit for, but expecting him to put up 25 plus minutes, most of it against getz and perry, is just asking for trouble. |

AMac's ice time should only range into the 25 minute mark if we are in the playoffs and in second OT. |

ive always thought they might be better apart from each other. they both seem to excel the most with the puck on their stick. granted, i do see the logic in trying to maximize your two best players' ice time though. |

Agreed.
I see us getting pinned in our own zone a whole hell of a lot tonight. |

You gotta think that is coming, at some point, if they keep getting butchered at ES

he played a ton last game if i recall? i know a certain fellow on here wont agree with me, but coburn being out is a killer. other people are forced to take on more of a burden that all things considered, is out of their paygrade |

I'm just watching the games to see how the season pans out for the Flyers. Zero expectations, good or bad.
I caught a bit of the Ducks game last night, but it was peripheral. I'll focus tonight. Hoping for a couple of softies, no matter who they put in goal (leftwinglock reporting Anderson first off the ice in practice).

Ugh...hope.not, but yeah, it could be a shooting gallery if they can't get the Ducks off the puck down low, which ain't easy to do
Just gotta hope they find a way

And Anderson lead them out for warm ups.
I'm not letting my lower expectations ruin it. I'm still gonna enjoy the games. |

Harder for me to enjoy if they are getting worked
I do understand it is a process and that Coburn is out, but it wouldn't be a crime if these guys stepped up the level of play at home and overcame some adversity against a good time that played yesterday |
