Trade likely would have likely taken Read + Luke Schenn. I would rather have Read, Schenn, Sanheim and Friedman than Kesler for 2 years.
I just don't see why you compare the two. Flyers just shouldn't have signed VL or traded for Kesler. - PhillySportsGuy
Schenn (both) have shown they're secondary players, if they stay or go doesn't have me shedding tears either way. Read is a nice player but he's not making or breaking this team. Kessler is a player who's presence would be felt here. |

It wasn't Del Zotto fault for carrying the puck in the offensive zone alone and nearly losing it? He's lucky Read got back. - SuperSchennBros
We're talking about a different play, then -- I thought you were referring to the reversal that Schenn gave away. My mistake

He only wanted to go to Anaheim or Chicago, though

Not a good rebound, compounded by a bad clear attempt. Somebody also blew coverage. |

Should the RW have drifted over? Schenn was tied up in front, Del Zotto had the near post, but Jackman crossed in front of Del Zotto to the far post. Should he have taken him, gone with him? |

Ok for sake of argument forget him, the flyers skip mortgaging Vinny, they still have a shot at another player, should they become available and they do. |

Maybe if this team was one two-way center away from a cup. Kesler wouldn't make this team a cup contender over the next 2 years. You'd be trading all of those assets for nothing. |

They also can't generate any offensive pressure that lasts longer than 20 seconds and ends with a blocked shot.
That's the biggest problem this period, imo |

One of the wingers should have drifted over. A lot more on Mason. leaky rebound and he did a poor job of clearing it. |

When every clearing attempt goes up the boards, it is really easy for the opposing team to keep you trapped in your own end |
