If Petry is in line to be traded, then I understand the scratch. If not, Eakins is the worst coach on the planet. This is not to mention sending Marincin down...

Yaks is a hard sell. I definitely didn't agree with his use last year (5 min in his first game?), but this year he's not in a grinder role and I'm ok with how he's been used so far (3rd scoring line).

As an aside, Nikitin is (frank)ing terrible. And if Will Acton draws in somewhere above the 4th line I'll kill someone...

In the end MacT has a lot of pull here with Marincin and Acton. At anytime he can go against his coach. The issue is he wants to put some trust in his coach so I suspect he gives the Acton and Hunt experiment a bit more time.

I think a lot of what MacT said was to deflect from the coach. MacT is a reasonable man and was in the same boat with Reddox-Jones years ago. Coach said Reddox GM said Jones.

MacT probably wants to be as flexible as possible on the smaller decisions.
