Another important question would be why does Ference keep getting minutes? If anyone appears to be behind the 8 ball I think he is a prime suspect - RatedR80
Petry's play to start the season has been worlds better than Ference's. Petry's play all of last year was a lot better than Ference's. They're making room for Nurse, who's a left shot D, by scratching Petry, their best Dman who's a right shot D.
Where the logic comes into play, I don't understand. Then again, this is a team that thinks Schultz is a #1 Dman and that Hunt is an adequate #2 for the time being =DDDDDDDDD |

Hey im all for Yak getting minutes but when was he supposed to get minutes the last game? In case you missed it we played a large chunk of the game on the PK so where was he supposed to get his minutes? Also he played for a bit in game one so I dont see where Yak is getting screwed this year at all - RatedR80
He was benched for most of the 2nd period, we took almost all of our penalties in the 3rd. Do you think that Hendricks and Gordon should be out on the 4v4 over Yakupov? |

Exactly. It's pretty easy to say that Petry and Marincin are both better than all of Hunt, Ference, Nikitin, Klefbom, and Schultz.
Hunt - Not terrible, but he's not an NHL defenseman at this point.
Ference - Cause he's the captain... Which brings up another very questionable decision.
Nikitin - (frank)ing hate that guy... Close to as much as I hate Acton at this point.
Klefbom - Got sent down, but should've been down there to start the season.
Schultz - Understandable because he's expected to be our stud dman. |

After the game on saturday I did post asking why it was that Yak wasnt used in the OT or more importantly during the shootout seeing as he did have a goal in the game and I felt that he did deserve a chance to partake in it....that being said he isnt even our best RW IMO that would be Purcell |

I am not an insider nor do I claim to be but do you really believe that our locker room is even buying into the fact that Ference is our C? I mean really? I dont get it just coz you attend parades and ride a bike through the city does not make you a C |

I agree as well Purcell has been our best player. But don't question how Yakupov is used otherwise it means "fire everybody, he's our saviour!!!! Herpaderp" |

How are all the Eakins supporters liking the decision to healthy scratch our best defenseman tonight? Here we come McDavid/Eichel! |

I think you can state a case for Yak and im pretty certain he will get minutes tonight based on the fact that Ebs is out....so if Yak really wants it maybe tonight is his night to go out there and take it |

And Gagner could? Hemsky? Eberle wasn't a defensive liability? Jones? - SpoiledByOil
They all were, but I can't speak to who was receptive in practice and who wasn't. If Yak was a female dog in practice or in the locker room and Ebs was not, I might not treat them equally either. I don't know I wasn't there.
I will say this, you can't bench everyone, and I would that Ebs gave us a better chance to score than Yak. Gags had to play to get back in shape...I don't know, it was a tough year all around. |

basically playing their best pairing from last year, Marincin-Petry, is too practical for them. It's really not the oilers unless they're not playing their best players. So! Instead of their best LHD and RHD, they choose to play a mid-tier 3rd pairing vet, a rookie 19YO on his wrong side, and a 26YO stump that can't defend. |

You've seemed to completely disregard most of my posts without reason. Have I engaged you in an unfair way? Were any of my posts not filled with valid arguments as to why Eakins may have done things the way he did? |

From what I've heard and what Kruger, MacT and others have publicly stated about Yakupov, he is the first on last off kind of guy who's always eager to learn and practice. These are things publicly stated about Yakupov's character and attitude. So I don't think that's the case at all. |

I think there's a fine line between Eakins supporters and people who see you don't fire a coach 2 games into a season, with no experienced coach lined up to step in.
That said, this decision is asinine. I can't even begin to understand the logic behind this decision. Simply doesn't exist. They phoned Pat Quinn and he said Petry was too soft so they should scratch him. |

I think of all the Oilers it would be Ference that pisses me off the most...as I said until someone can explain it to me ill never come to terms with it at all
EDIT: Actually I cant even explain why but Ebs is getting very high up on that list as well |

It's not a thing you need to say sorry for. Just go back and read them with a cool head. You may have read them (and responded to a fair deal), but I think you were in a state of mind not conducive to really considering them (on account of Hugefemale dog's sometimes inflammatory manner of posting). I recommend you take the rest of the night off cause you're not gaining any ground around here |
