From what I've heard and what Kruger, MacT and others have publicly stated about Yakupov, he is the first on last off kind of guy who's always eager to learn and practice. These are things publicly stated about Yakupov's character and attitude. So I don't think that's the case at all.
- SpoiledByOil

But you don't know either way how he reacted to criticism, do you?

I'm a big fan of tough love, so I didn't have as big an issue with his treatment as others. I put the blame at 50/50 for Yak and Eakins, and I expected a compramise for this year . Judging by the way Yak played so far this season, I think much if Eakins tough lessons have sunk in.
Of course, I'm gonna assume that you disagree that Yaks improved play this season has anything to do with Eakins at all.

I think of all the Oilers it would be Ference that pisses me off the most...as I said until someone can explain it to me ill never come to terms with it at all

EDIT: Actually I cant even explain why but Ebs is getting very high up on that list as well

- RatedR80

Cause he floats, doesn't back check hard, and only once every 15 games will he have a game where's he's a key driving factor in the team's victory. He's usually just riding Hall's coattails.

Ference doesn't piss me off. How Ference, Schultz, and Hunt are misused pisses me off. How Petry and Marincin aren't being used at all pisses me off.

I had Marincin-Petry pencilled in as my top pairing and both are sitting tonight. I don't understand that even a little bit

It's not a thing you need to say sorry for. Just go back and read them with a cool head. You may have read them (and responded to a fair deal), but I think you were in a state of mind not conducive to really considering them (on account of Hugefemale dog's sometimes inflammatory manner of posting). I recommend you take the rest of the night off cause you're not gaining any ground around here
- MaximumBone

I don't really care about gaining ground on here. I know I'm an bumhole, I have no reservations about it, but I know, and everyone who knows me knows I'm a good guy.

I'm not going to read back, but if you want to restate them I will address them.

ya Ebs is quite underwhelming 50% of games and spectacular the other 50%. Looked bad the first 2 games

No, he's more like underwhelming 50% of games, okay in 35%, and spectacular in 15%. At least by my eye.

IMO his improved play comes from him not playing with plugs and not playing on the LW

Also if I want to go off what previous coaches have said, he's very open to constructive criticism

I don't wanna read back either. My main point was that, regardless of how he was used in the past, Eakins seems to be aiming for 14-15 minutes/game for Yak and Leon. As of now, Yak is excelling in that role so I think there's little to no reason for messing with the line structure. Especially when considering his line's main competition for ice time (Arco's line) is dominating.

I didnt think it was possible to score 28 goals and at the same time bring little impact to your team.....Ebs sure does defy the odds huh....by the way no sarcasm there im not even that sad that he isnt playing tonight....im def more saddened by Nuge and Petry not playing

He's been doing it for awhile... I used to love Ebs (first jersey I got out of the kids), but lately he's been frustrating. Regardless if he's scoring goals or putting up points he's got zero drive and effort. His effort and heart is exactly why the Oiler's won't win games: they just don't want it bad enough.

I don't understand why he was bench most of the 2nd period against Van? People say that it's because of all the penalties, but most of the penalties came in the 3rd, and why would we play Hendricks and Gordon on a 4v4? Why is hunt playing 21 min a night? Why is Petry a healthy scratch? Why is Marincin in the AHL?

Yes that is 6 mil a year poorly spent when im sure we could get a solid dman for that 6 mil instead....at this rate I would rather see Purcell on the first line with Hall and Nuge

So Petry a healthy scratch...

According to Friedman Petry can't wait to get out.

Anyone agree or am I just going to get attacked?

Yeah, I know right? I'm not saying he doesn't have value or isn't a solid hockey player, but I think he's lost a lot of the luster from earlier seasons. That's kinda why I've been advocating for moving him lately. He's got value and, of the more valuable assets on the team, losing him hurts the least.

And he was my favourite Oiler by a mile at the start of this whole rebuild.

Correct me if im wrong but I think Gordon is out there on the 5 vs 4 to just take the faceoff then get off the ice asap because he is our best man on the draw
