So Petry a healthy scratch...

According to Friedman Petry can't wait to get out.

Anyone agree or am I just going to get attacked?

- whipper334

More misuse causing more players to want out.

Nope I wouldnt disagree at all...between the contract mess this summer and now the healthy scratch this has all the makings for a messy divorce and now coz its out there that Petry might want out we wont even get fair value for him

Yes that is 6 mil a year poorly spent when im sure we could get a solid dman for that 6 mil instead....at this rate I would rather see Purcell on the first line with Hall and Nuge

Oof. You guys are investing too much in 2 games of play. If eberle scored 3 tonight, you'd be lined up to suck his d*ck

IMO his improved play comes from him not playing with plugs and not playing on the LW

Also if I want to go off what previous coaches have said, he's very open to constructive criticism

- SpoiledByOil

Sooooo....0% Eakins? Not surprised. He didn't show this kind of defensive awareness or effort at all last year, at any point.

Can't blame him -- It must be extremely difficult playing hockey for a living and pulling in just north of 3 million this season. That poor Zorch

Yeah, I know right? I'm not saying he doesn't have value or isn't a solid hockey player, but I think he's lost a lot of the luster from earlier seasons. That's kinda why I've been advocating for moving him lately. He's got value and, of the more valuable assets on the team, losing him hurts the least.

And he was my favourite Oiler by a mile at the start of this whole rebuild.

If they managed to trade Ebs and get something pretty damn good in return I would have nothing but praise for MacT esp since we do have Purcell and Yak as our other RW so its not like it would cripple our team much to make such a move

Correct me if im wrong but I think Gordon is out there on the 5 vs 4 to just take the faceoff then get off the ice asap because he is our best man on the draw

Was a typo, meant 4v4

I don't understand why he was bench most of the 2nd period against Van? People say that it's because of all the penalties, but most of the penalties came in the 3rd, and why would we play Hendricks and Gordon on a 4v4? Why is hunt playing 21 min a night? Why is Petry a healthy scratch? Why is Marincin in the AHL?
- SpoiledByOil

It was the penalties in conjunction with Vancouver pushing for the win. The Sedins were on the ice for 22+ minutes that game after only playing 6 minutes in the 1st period. If they weren't on the PP, chances are good that one of their top two lines were out there pushing for the tying goal. Neither of those are situations I'd have put Leon into so his line sat.

Now, I agree that Yak should've been given some time on the top line with how Eberle was playing, but that's hindsight and not a huge deal. Might've translated to 1.5 to 2 more minutes on ice for him.

Jailbait told me that he doesn't need Eberle to score any points and he will still suck his d!ck

No I wouldnt because I know what I would be getting for the next few games after that....I can honestly say that I was never a huge fan of Ebs and if that makes me a bad person then so be it lol

If I was a team's best Dman and I played 16 minutes a night and got healthy scratched I probably wouldn't be too happy.

I don't think you fire a guy because of a rough start to a season. But if Eakins is legitimately dumb enough to play Schultz 24 minutes a night, play Hunt as a #2 because he's important 3 minutes a night on the PP, and keep Ference playing no matter what, then he could really be holding Edmonton back.

And yet he did under Krueger, go figure. Hard to know where to be on the ice when you're playing a position you've never played
