Seemed like he was battling a lot more before he picked up the big contract... - NugentHallberle
I seem to always remember Ebs looking great until we're down 2 goals. Then he disappears. Said this many times last year. |

Yup. I honestly believe that when and if this team is competitive, it's because Marincin, Klefbom, Schultz and Nurse develop into a studly top 4. So....2016-17? - Jeropotato
Could very well be because unless we can get help right now we will have to wait for the kids to develop and for Dmen it takes alot longer then a forward |

Have you ever bulked up to put on muscle? You lose conditioning, there's real no way around it - SpoiledByOil
No, I haven't. Doesn't really matter though, if the cuz conditioning isn't where they need it, it isn't where they need it. |

Huh? Ebs was always a floater. a few years ago he had that sick and unsustainable shooting %, remember? 18% with Renny, closer to 11% the rest of the time. - Jeropotato
I know he would be the fan favorate that I would offer up in a trade in hopes of making the team better....surely some GM out there is willing to bite.... |

Like we both said....top pair d-men don't fall out of the sky, and when they do, they usually land somewhere else (see Erhoff, Christian). |

He just needs to battle and show some heart. He could be back in my good books pretty quick if he just looked like he wanted it out there. - NugentHallberle
I wonder how good he could be if he actually showed up for 82 games |

My mistake, i apologize.
Eakins prides himself on conditioning, so when the team asked Marincin to put on some weight he should know that bulking and putting on weight is going to affect conditioning. So if that's really the reason it makes it worse IMO. He's punishing him for doing what the team asked him to do - SpoiledByOil
I don't know what the real reason is.
in my estimation they were all pretty comparable in terms of impact/mistakes (klefbom, nurse, marincin. even hunt)
however, I will say that marincin plays a much 'quieter' game than that of nurse and klefbom (admittedly, he did start jumpin up last season while he gained confidence).
nurse is pretty flashy, and klefbom still has a long way to go as he kinda plays like his hair is on fire. (at least in preseason) kinda makes some big plays (negatively and positively) and is such a powerful skater, so his positives are incredibly noticeable.
just kind of a guess though..
I think mm shoulda been kept with the oilers, but I will say that I don't think hes nearly established enough to overcome what may have been a mediocre camp. and neither do I think his absence has been a huge detriment to us in either of the first 2 games. I think some of us may been thinking a little revisionist to how strong he was last year. certainly a very pleasant surprise and fairly solid both ways most night against tough competition. but no star game changer just yet |

Oh he's a great talent, no doubt. Reminds me off Brett Hull in some ways. -Minus the unbelievable hockey sense and insanely talented Center like Oates or Modano. |

You need to give him time, at the end of the pre season he was solid, looked really well. If you want him to put on a decent amount of weight on a short period of time, don't be surprised if his conditioning takes a bit of time. |

I'm not arguing. AHL is as good a place as any to get in game shape, if that is indeed the issue. |
