we finished 3rd last, 7th last and twice dead last with sam. we've been steamrolled multiple times by the kings with sam in the lineup.

If we are done with Sam than great. I am comfortable with that but we needed to get a center man. Purcell, sure he is good and I like that trade in theory but it left us a hole. One that hurt us huge at the start of last season.

Truthfully if you are going to be playing randoms like Fayne and Hunt we might as well just give this year to the rookies. Put Marincin, Nurse and Klef in. If we are going to be doing things like putting Pouliot on our top PP unit, might as well let the young guys get experience. Especially Nail. He has potential and just isn't reaching it. The beauty of him though is he is solid muscle and in theory should be less likely to be injured than a lot of guys under 22.

Sam wasn't getting us a center, we got a guy that was going to be bought out. I suspect like our plan was going to be that the Yotes will be moving him and his 22% FO to the wing soon.

Time for Eakins to go. He worries too much about adv stats, fitness, and diet than he does making the team better. He isnt an NHL coach.

He said the right things to the media the first few weeks he was hired, but he hasnt done anything. Not a single thing.


And when you do bring in a new coach, trade some of your core. Ebs, Yak, Hall. Any of them. Theyre not getting it done.

I disagree with the core trading. Why trade great players when their value is low. These guys are young an locked up at what looks to be great deals.

I know this game was done the second Nuge was scratched. Maybe before that. Still Eakins has to go. Early in the game, first PP and Pouliot is on the first shift. I might have missed the memo where he became something other than filler. I like Jesse and Henricks better. Not to mention you are down by two. Why not put your two highest goal scorers on the same line. He has tried everything else. He is not utilizing the players based on their skill sets. He is also not getting anything out of this team.

MacT should also be looked at. We knew we have an injury prone first line center. How do we go with 2 rookies. Plus his Def acquisitions looked silly. I am sorry but at this point the rookies are looking better than Fayne. Coaches and GMs have been fired for less.

Easy to fire Mac T. We have no idea if Jokinen, Ribiero or Langkow were offered deals or not. Not sure what trade options there were either.you have long established that you don't like Mac T so it kind of voids your opinion .

I think I would entertain the idea of giving Messier a shot at running this team. I'd prefer him behind the bench but I'd just like to see a guy like him (preferably HIM) helping guide this team.

We all have a fire in our bellies and it just needs to emerge. This Oilers team is very cold, they just don't care. Again, I was wrong about Yak...he's got the fire I think.

While I will agree the game plan for last nights seemed off, scratching a few from an already depleted line up, against an elite team. By design or not, changes in strategy or personnel are sure to come of it. I get your growing frustrations with your team, but we are one week in. Couple wins and all looks good again.

Oh (frank) yeah, it's not all doom and gloom. The team can still turn it around and show serious improvement, we don't need to blow this up.
Most if this talk stems from a massive 'what if', being Taylor Hall saying '(frank) this' and demanding a trade.
Having said that.....Mac T has some work to do as injuries will happen and we are clearly I'll prepared to deal with them, especially at Center.
