2 points in 2 games, kid is failing? - Lahey
playing the 2nd least amount of minutes on the team. Joensuu definetly deserves mroe ice time than Yapupov.
that was my point, he has been one of our best players, yet he still gets 4th line minutes.
Now we have Petry as a healthy scratch, is he our worst D so far this year? |

Hall became one of the elite/premier LW in the game....
Perron had a career year and I don't know that Eberle exactly regressed. RNH also had a decent year all things considered. - Lahey
Hall is the best LW in the game. I'd only really argue that Benn is anywhere near Hall's calibre |

See Lahey's post in regards to this. - MaximumBone
Hall improved his PPG but still regressed in advanced stats, Perron played good yes. Nuge regressed, Eberle regressed.
Our 5v5 regressed, possesion regressed, PP regressed, PK regressed. Everyone except MAYBE Hall and Perron regressed. |

Overarching thing you're missing is he has 2 points in 2 games. He's in a position to succeed now and is succeeding. - MaximumBone
Actually playing 12 mins a night when Joenssu is getting 4 seconds less is not a position to succeed. He needs to see more ice |

Hall is clearly one of those special talents that was going to flourish regardless of the coach, I wouldn't give Eakins much credit for that. Especially since he still has a ways to go defensively , something that does depend on coaching more so than pure offensive talent. |

Petry is a healthy scratch, not injured, not sick, healthy scratch.....
What's your defense for that Jeropotato? Has Petry been our worst D in the first 2 games? - SpoiledByOil
Makes no sense to me. At all. |

Actually playing 12 mins a night when Joenssu is getting 4 seconds less is not a position to succeed. He needs to see more ice - Oilfan19
We've gone over this. Eakins' goal if opening night was any indication is to have Yak around 14-15 minutes per night. Him playing only 9:50 in the Canucks game was a byproduct of consecutive penalties being taken by Yak's team. Eakins said it himself after the Canucks game that he would've liked to get Yak out there more often, but due to the penalties and the Canucks' pressing the offense with the Sedins on the ice for 22+ minutes, there weren't many chances to deploy his line.
Is 14-15 minutes per game with 2+ minutes per game on the PP not putting this guy in a position to succeed? |

His defense for that is he isn't arguing that Eakins is flawless, just that his usage of Yakupov so far (2 (frank)ing games) is completely validated- as it was last year. He, along with everyone else here, knows that Eakins makes some really strange roster decisions. We'll see how it goes this game. I personally hope Hunt gets lit-up so they can finally send him down and bring up Marincin. - MaximumBone

The solution is quite easy...stop taking so many penalties as a team and his time will go up. Eakins managed his time well, just like all you Jabronis who hate Eakins hoped he would. - Jeropotato
The only Jamboni on this site is you potatoe head. Who said I hate Eakins? I just don't know what to make of him yet. He hasn't done enough this year to warrant an opinion as yet. |

He should be around 16ish but fair enough, point taken. Missed that interview . Tonight those top 3 lines should be all near even for minutes and just roll em |

I know what to make of him, he's a (frank)ing tool who doesn't do what he says he's going to do and has no idea how to develop players. He has a hard on for all heart no talent plugs. |

Probably, must be why he put Hendricks and Gordon out there on the 4v4 against Van too, wouldn't want skilled players to be on the ice with extra room to work with |
