Other scenarios where the service just isn't good isn't always the servers fault. Sometimes it's the cook messing up the order or the something else and unfortunately the server takes the bulk of the responsibility

ive had this debate with a few people before after the lesean mccoy incident. Do you still tip them 15-20 percent if you were given horrible service? my opinion is you dont...if im a bad guy for doing it so be it.

I left a $0 tip maybe a week before the McCoy thing happened. It's probably the only time I've ever tipped less than 15%. 20% is usually the minimum I leave.

The server took our initial drink order. He then took our food order when he delivered the drinks. A runner delivered our food a bit later. My drink (beer and a water) were both empty well before we finished our food. Never once did the waiter stop by our table to see how we were doing or to see if we needed anything else (like refills). Our empty plates were cleared by a runner/busser.

We actually were planning on ordering more food and at least one more round of drinks. But our server never came back to our table. He served approximately 5 tables around us consistently, refilling their drinks and bringing them food. My drinks sat empty for over 45 minutes (no exaggeration). We actually had to get up from our table and ask another server to get us our check because our waiter would not come back to our table. When he finally showed up with our check (the other server told him to give it to us), he did not apologize for the service.

I have no idea what happened, but I tipped $0 and I did not feel the least bit guilty about it. Had he just apologized, I would have actually left 10-15%. Oh well, we left for another restaurant where we got more food and a couple rounds of drinks. His and his employer's loss, I guess.

That's why I was so annoyed I was able to walk to the bat after waiting 20 min. And still drink half my beer before she got me one. I ordered food and got it on time. She was the ear problem (I knew the bartender) 1cent was a she got no matter how good she thought she looked

Ive always tipped generously. But will tip like poop if it calls for it. But I feels its ridiculous that we as people even tip to begin with. Its nonsense. Waiters and Waitresses don't any harder than the next person. They deal with people sure. But tons of people with crap jobs deal with people on a daily basis. We aren't tipping them.
