No. It isnt any different than working fast food. These people want everything for free. They get jobs that arent careers. Most of them can barley just said job in the first place. But they want more.

Theyre jobs arent intended as careers. Theyre for students to work while schooling. It isnt our job to make sure they get free money because they cant get a real job. Its another welfare. Im just saying its ridiculous. It isnt our fault they cant get full time hours and or get a better job. They would strive to do better things rather than sit pat making free money.

They make less than minimum wage because the law sets the minimum wage lower for tipped workers. If a server does not receive enough tips to make up the difference between their hourly wage and the standard minimum wage, the employer does have to make up the difference.

Isnt it funny how some people let a law like that pass for something that isnt set in stone. We dont have to leave a tip. And again. It isnt our fault weather we decide they deserve it or not.

But it is different than working fast food. Fast food workers are paid minimum wage by law. Servers are not.

I have to agree with you on this. There is no reason a good server can't make good money. In comparison to my 1 cent tip I have given a few 40% tips and in one instance the server gave me a portion of it back. But still a real and dedicated server can make a career of it

Sorry, let me parse this out, cause with respect you and I are on very different positions here.

1. Temporary job - assuming that's true, so what?

2. Welfare - maybe, for restaurants. But that's the reason your $30 steak doesn't cost $50.

So if you would rather pay the restaurant than the server, then I guess fine. But that's not how it works in this country.
