It is drawing people to Buffalo that have never been here before . Families . Did you not see Cabins comment - more hotels are being built Lots of them that will keep our local tradesmen busy . Did you see how the increased revenue from sales tax is keeping our property taxes down ? That is because of all of the cross border shopping I will ask you again. Where you ever on a travel team or all star team as a kid ? Because I was I went to a lot of neat places . Places my family actually returned to . When I came home raving about them . It is improving the image of our fair city that people love to dump on.
Sure it is not going to turn our entire economy around . But it is a starting point . Look on the bright side for once .

10 years ago there was going to be a STAFDA convention at the Buf conv.center. They went to toronto instead. Reason being not enough hotels close by for the 10-20,000 people that would be here from all over the world for a week. In 8 years that would be a possibility. They wanted to have it in Buffalo because of the close proximity to the Canadian border.

I live in Apple Valley. Its the quit'est of the the few neighboring cities. Its getting worse as the years go on. As LA and is continuing to send those people out this way. They literally hand out flyers down there about the section 8 and free assisted living to get them up here. Lucky for me at the moment theyre sticking to Victorville and Adelanto mostly. But still see more and more where im at.

I'm going to the Sabres/Kings game. I've never been to a hockey game at Staples, and I am sure it will not be enjoyable with how well (sarcasm) the team is playing, plus on a back-to-back with Anaheim the night before... Nevertheless I'll be at both games. Proudly wearing Sabres gear.

You will love it . Have done shows there and gone to hockey games . My old travel agent has had King seasons tickets since 1972 . We had sushi made right at our seats one time . His seats are like 200's at First Niagara but 20 times nicer. Everything about that building is world class ! Enjoy !

We are sitting in the 200s as well. I enjoy the atmosphere at the Honda Center/Pond when I go there, but I am not sure how the atmosphere will be at Staples. Glad to hear you had a great experience. I have been to some basketball games, but basketball isn't my thing so I was pretty disinterested.

McKenzie (sp?), just covered the potential of a trade between Detroit and Buffalo with Meyers...says Detroit is continuing to evaluate Myers game...while deciding if they want to trade young studs. Nothing definitive .. Just more of same...GMTM price is very high...

Youre taking a huge risk, pouliot MIGHT develop into what myers is already. We dont need to get more defenseman we need to trade for a highly skilled 1st line player

Terry has some work to do...the Bills and Sabres combined don't have 22 years of playoffs in their combined existence let alone since 1992.
