Its a great loosely based analogy. He is an extremely strong skater, and when he is on top of his game it is nearly impossible to take him of the puck. Last night's third period Jake is a crazy scary player. I wish he could bottle that up and bring it that way a lot more often. He would be a star. - jak521
We might see that this season. He is young too....so the best is yet to come. What I saw last night was the Flyers were starting to find their game. Outside of an average 1st period for them. They looked good the rest of the way. Mason looks shaky though. I am a little worried about that. |

The pizza ones were lunchroom trade gold when they first came out.
I was always more into the turkey/cheddar one myself. |

That is seriously frustrating. How can you expect the guy to be a point producer or even take on a more offensive role when he is constantly starting in his own end? He has looked good in his limited offensive situations.. give him some more.
If I were to split the line I would go this route...
Read-G-Simmonds
Raffl-Couts-Voracek
Schenn-Bellemare-Umberger
Akeson-Jones-Rinaldo - jak521
I think when Vinnie comes back, they should consider this first. It's close to the combinations Berube likes and might get Vinnie going enough to turn into into some trade bait.
Akeson/Raffl - G - Simmonds
Schenn - Vinnie - Jake
Umberger - Couts - Read
Rinaldo - Bellemare - Akeson/Raffl |

The deep dish pizza Lunchables were under rated. The hamburgers were odd and the hot dogs were very slimy. |

Last season, BSchenn was 1/2, Raffl was 1/3. Outside of G, nobody else was over 33%.
Vinny was 2/8, Voracek 0/1, Akeson 0/1, Umberger 0/0, Coots 1/5, Read 1/6. The latter two keep getting sent out there like they're due, or something.
Year before that, the only other guy besides G to score on the SO was Read 1/3. Read was 4/6 in 2011-12, maybe that's where his rep w/ the coaches stems from. - Tomahawk
Goalies figured out Read is never going to deke. Berube gets to see these guys in practice everyday. I bet he's at a loss as much as we are.
As a side, the Flyers really need to stop going first in shootouts when they have the choice. |

My pizza lunchables always came with a no trade clause. I was willing to consider moving the capri sun and the fun sized candy bar for the right piece, but not the pizza. |

My wife still buys them for herself every once in a while. I don't understand why she can't just get a regular turkey sandwich like a full grown person. |

Not one Duck attempted a deke last night and they beat Mason 3 times. 2 goals and a post. All glove side. We cant shoot either! |

I never laughed
Jake is the man
After the Rangers series the NYR players said he was the best Flyer, hardest to play against.
And I expect G to do it too, hopefully soon. - Marc D
I know u didn't laugh but that wave of nonsense wanting to trade jake, read and simmonds for bobby Ryan by the cherry hill commandoes here still makes me sick to this day |

It could be worse. We could be Pittsburgh, where the noteworthy local cuisine includes sandwiches topped with french fries, and salads topped with french fries. |

He doesn't get put in situations where he can produce offense consistently. He starts way too many shifts in the defensive zone against the teams top line. He's being used as a third line shut down center and is being expected to produce like a 2nd line center. Not to mention we don't have the best defensemen for moving the puck up the ice. - NickTheKid87
Whose expectations is that? Because everything I've heard the team say, and more importantly, their actions is that he is a 3rd line shutdown center. Yes, they would like him to generate more offense. But they've never called him a 2nd line center. And more importantly, when they talk about Vinnie they talk about the "2nd line".

Can you imagine how much that would have set the franchise back? All three of those players are better than Ryan and younger |

Can they re-sign Lindros and Roenick just for shootouts? Either one would likely be better than anyone on the current roster other than Giroux!

I know. I felt guilty one time for ridiculing her for doing it. It was on sale for like $1.50. For her birthday, I'm going to surprise her with 14 of them as a gift. |
