Vinny is an average at best passer. Coots is a better passer and playmaker right now. He just can't snipe like Vinny. - jmatchett383
Also, with out looking I have a feeling that Vinny's offensive zone starts tinker around 60% |

If he doesn't immediately give chest-busting birth to a turnkey Niklas Lidstrom, I'm done with him. Simple as that. - Tomahawk
I don't even have time to mess with this today. The Flyers have problems, and Giroux isn't great every night, because he is human.
But just like people.are.seeing that it is almost impossible for the Flyers to not allow at least three goals with Braydon Coburn out of the lineup, one day Giroux is gonna get hurt. Because players get hurt.
Then those people are gonna understand the phrase "up poop creek without a paddle," because that is where they will be.

I'd drive him to Edmonton myself and I probably couldn't point out Alberta on a map. |

On what planet is Claude Giroux the (frank)ing problem with this team? He had two assists last night on three goals scored and was the only scorer in the shootout -- what the (frank) else do people want him to do? Seriously? What the (frank) else.do people want him to do? - AllInForFlyers
Have more goals than Dominic Moore the next time they go head to head in a playoff series. Giroux 2 Moore 2.

That is so (frank)ing clueless, words can't even cover it. It really is. But if that is where you are, go for it. Because everyone is entitled to an opinion. |

I don't think the conversation was that G sucks or anything like that. Have to re-read maybe.
But I do think his standing among Flyers fans is probably higher than how he is valued by the rest of the league. And by that I mean, players, GM's and other media pundits.
Consider recent polls on who would you build a team around. Consider who got picked for the Olympics. Etc.
He is my favorite player. I only suggested considering to trade him for the next wave of young superstar because of fears that by the time the defense finally gets fixed he will be on the wrong side of 30. I think that's legitimate.

I thought he was going to help us defensively. Why is Berube shielding him? |

So yeah, Vinny's pushed Schenn out of C AND he's probably one of the main reasons why Coots is buried in the dzone. /applause |

Not even for an entire game. He's been playing with Couts and Read the last 2 games. It says a lot about how the coaches feel if they need to move him off of the checking line when they have a defensive zone face-off. |

Would you make any of these trades?
B.Schenn for Yakupov
B.Schenn for Grigorenko
B.Schenn for M.Domi
B.Schenn for Jake Virtanen
B.Schenn for Sven Baertschi
My thinking is that this team is not a cup contender. So i would try to start arranging the pieces to fit better. Move Schenn for a natural winger. Hopefully Vinny comes back and plays well enough that he can be moved at the TDL. Then the pieces can fit better. I can get wingers to build around couturier and giroux and lt luaghton be the shutdown center so couturier isn't facing so many dz starts.

Tells me 2 things. First, they know he can't skate. Second, they need him to be successful, most likely so they can trade him. |
