Im sorry but i have to argue that lindros was especially in the parameters set by u guys, like as soon as they joined the league... Are u kidding me iirc lindros had 40 goals as a rookie. And as a rookie he was already a match for guys like scott stevens... Even 66 and 99 needed premeire talent around them to hoist cups, the only thing lindros didnt do... Furthermore he made players around him better.
- JoeRussomanno

Lindros was supposed to be a generational talent. And technically was. But career derailed by injuries and Scott Stevens.

Agreed. He doesn't play hockey. He's a rodeo clown.

Shocked that TSN didn't hire him yet.

Optimistic point of view:

Everyone of these games have been winnable.
The Flyers are showing great resilience in coming back from deficits a lot already (similar to what they did last season).
The Flyers special teams are very good.
Simmonds has blossomed into one of the premiere power forwards in the league - dare I say an All-Star appearance this season?
Jake has come alive. Hopefully that trend continues (big visor and all).

Because it's a myth. There is nothing that guarantees they score on the PP. Furthermore, they had a chance to win Game 7, and they didn't.

Sure, it would have increased their chances, and Gretzky won't score that goal. But even Gilmour admitted it was right not to call it.

Tie Domi was cheered by TML fans after running away from 2 legit tough guys, hitting a player who was being held down, and then literally (LITRILLY!) his behind Tomas Kaberle from big bad Luke Richardson. I rest my case.

It's an obvious optimistic view from fans of every team.

From the sample size I've seen, Toronto has notoriously been the worst. But I don't have the analytics to back it up.

- bradleyc4

It's hard not to be biased, at least for me. I try to expect the best I can realistically see. Like last season, despite the horrible start, I was sure they were going to be a playoff team.

This season, even though they have been more competitive at the start, I will make no such claim. Could easily see them make it or miss it.

When he was in his prime, he was (by far) the most exciting player to watch.

It's an effing crime that he isn't in the HHOF right now.

Well, the big thing is Gretzky would have been kicked out of the game.

And I'm happy to be proven wrong, but I don't think Gilmour has ever said it shouldn't have been called. It was a clear high stick that drew blood.

Water under the bridge, of course.

I can't believe how effing long ago that was.

Sigh.

His career wasnt derailed by scott stevens unless youre referring to that hit, clarke gives him a goalie and the devils are short by like two cupsedit: a little bit more skill and speed on that team would have went a long way too

I"m actually going on a very similar rant in the Leafs thread right now.

Leafs fans crap on the players that actually have talent, but worship the plugs.

It's bizarre.

In our defence, every team loves their poop-disturber.

Hell, Flyers fans defended Steve Downie for years.

He said something to the effect of, if Fraser didn't see it, then he was right not to call it. Further, it was a shot follow-through, which isn't a penalty. But I can currently find either quotes to support that.

Still, Leafs should have either scored in OT or won Game 7.

We saw the C or even C- game from Getzlaf and Perry last night.
They did the minimal possible to get a W.

When the games really matter they have another level of play.
See the Ducks vs Dallas series last spring for example.

One team last night is a legit cup contender.
The other played a decent game and salvaged a point.

I'm going out on a limb here and predicting that the Flyers WILL actually win a game before the season is over
