Because we can't be mean in the eyes of the world. Give us your infected, your terrorists, your non-tax-payers. |

I'm wondering why this hospital was allowed to care for the original patient when it's clear they weren't properly prepared. Should have been sent to Emory or Nebraska immediately, where a big staff has successfully treated patients (i.e. no workers got sick themselves). I think this Texas hospital just wanted to be able to boast about how awesome they are for being able to treat ebola patients. Whoops. Of course, whoever made the call to keep the guy never got within 100 yards of the original patient, while sending 50+ others with inadequate training/equipment to protect themselves from exposure.
I just read they've moved at least 1 of the new cases to Emory. Good idea guys. If they send the other patient to a better equipped facility, where workers are properly trained/protected, it'll burn itself out. Hopefully these other people live, as they contracted it trying (unfortunately unsuccessfully) to save a life. |

What does this have to do with non-taxpayers? Why don't you just come out and say Obama wants this as revenge for slavery. Get it off you chest and be done with it. |

Agreed. I really respect them for their care and devotion. It's a shame the people who employ them don't seem to care as much about their own personnel. |

Because she was on a plane before having symptoms?
The good thing is it seems no one "exposed" to the original patient before going to the hospital for confirmed ebola has contracted the disease, which is in line with it really only being transmissible once a patient starts showing significant symptoms. The Cleveland patient developed the fever well after being on the plane. The key is treating these two without any healthcare workers getting sick |
