Visnovsky probably could've gotten the same money elsewhere. Nabokov as well. A bird in hand may have come into play. |

JT has a lotttt to do with it though.
then you have the young pieces in strome, reinhardt, de haan, hamonic - stayinthefnnet
It's pretty much top on down... not sure I see many clear-cut advantages in talent-level or depth in the Flyers' favor right now, aside from Wayne Simmonds. |

my coworker said he's watched a few flyers games and he knows the problem is the coach because the players are talented but just aren't playing as a team |

All I've heard is that EDM is resting him because he had a short camp due to shoulder problems.
If he's available, you gotta kick the tires. - tangent_man
Yup. Agreed. He's got good size, fairly mobile and good at moving the puck up and out of the zone. He's a good comparison for MacDonald, actually |

better record this year, flyers or islanders? that is a toss up for me. i could see it either way.
heading into the future, you never know about prospects, but the Isles appear to have the edge. and for as much as i respect Giroux, ill take JT as a centerpiece. |

theyve had issues with inconsistency.
but with halak at least providing some stability, and the defensive additions, along with grabovski, they could make some noise.
they worry me. |

Isles. I was singing their praises all summer, and that was before the recent patch job on D.
Soup to nuts, I think they've built/bumbled themselves a pretty decent team, with a very balanced/flexible cap structure moving forward. |

they just strike me as a team that really hasnt learned how to win yet. and that culture/stigma can be hard to shake. i think this is the year they make big strides though. |

Prior to the defense additions, I said coin flip. Now, I lean Isles. |

Well... it's not like the Pens and Flyers have really learned how to win yet either... well I guess the Pens learned but then forgot. |

ugh. back on that memory trail buddy.
but still, you know what i mean. its not as if either team has been a perennial bottom dweller for the past decade. when they make it to the playoffs, there is no oh well were just pretty happy to be here sentiment.
columbus and NYI still have that. but they have pretty nice futures |
