Yup. Agreed. He's got good size, fairly mobile and good at moving the puck up and out of the zone. He's a good comparison for MacDonald, actually - Jsaquella
Not sure I'd do Coburn, but it would be 1.425 savings this year, then Petry goes UFA.
Coburn hits UFA after next season.
If they'd be giving up picks, though...

That was Butsy's view...Grab picks, Petry is solid, although a slight downgrade from Coburn. |

Giving up Coburn for a lesser guy is calling this season a wash, unless Hexy has other moves up his sleeve.
That kinda throws 'patience' out the window.

Would Tyler Dellow shoot down Amac for Petry? |

Coburn is too much for Petry. Try and pawn LSchenn off on them.
Or give them MacDonald for a massive increase in cap flexibility, and so he's not the main topic of half these threads till 2020. |

It is, in a sense. I'm not sure I'd do it at all, let alone right now. I like the picks aspect |

ugh. back on that memory trail buddy.
but still, you know what i mean. its not as if either team has been a perennial bottom dweller for the past decade. when they make it to the playoffs, there is no oh well were just pretty happy to be here sentiment.
columbus and NYI still have that. but they have pretty nice futures - stayinthefnnet
If Wang sells, and Snow follows him out, I could see the organizational complexion changing in an instant -- like the 'Hawks when Dollar Bill died. Aside from some old hats like Boulton, none of the kids have been steeped long enough in the culture to really get tainted. |

They can't call this season a wash, four games in -- they can't.

I read the threads each day, so I know where most people stand and since I say it often enough, perhaps some others know where I stand.
But this team can make the playoffs with a healthy Coburn, if the right people stay healthy.
They haven't won yet. I get it. And they're not the best team out there, and they might be little more than first-round fodder.
But making the playoffs matters. Players learning how to produce under pressure matters. Producing in the regular seasons, showing consistency or developing it, over 82 games matters.
I understand no one is saying they should tank. I get it.
But they can't call this season a wash yet. They need to be more consistent. They have to play better team defense. But the team we see in bursts can make the playoffs, and I honestly believe that is hugely important, though they are imperfect. |

It's as dumb as firing lavy 3 games in. Prepare for a wash in the offseason and trade away older vets then or give this season time to play out a bit first. Lavy should have been given more time or let go in the summer.
I'm just happy to see Simmonds taking the next step in his development. Fun to watch so far. |

Just jammed in a music room in the middle of a building on campus with a few guitarists. I was on a poopty drum kit. And the piano for Simple Man.
Many people were confused.
Some even enjoyed it |
