My display name is just that, a name. I can always create another. I'm just smart enough to form my own opinion without following the rest of the herd of sheep. Crazy, right?

I just threw up a little bit when I read that MacDaddy was here for 6 years.

Pshhh 6 contract years translates to like 3 years as a flyer.. Not too bad

The Schenn's will be out of hockey and running a plumbing business in 5 years.

The name is genius.

I read the threads each day, so I know where most people stand and since I say it often enough, perhaps some others know where I stand.

But this team can make the playoffs with a healthy Coburn, if the right people stay healthy.

They haven't won yet. I get it. And they're not the best team out there, and they might be little more than first-round fodder.

But making the playoffs matters. Players learning how to produce under pressure matters. Producing in the regular seasons, showing consistency or developing it, over 82 games matters.

I understand no one is saying they should tank. I get it.

But they can't call this season a wash yet. They need to be more consistent. They have to play better team defense. But the team we see in bursts can make the playoffs, and I honestly believe that is hugely important, though they are imperfect.

- AllInForFlyers

Last year the Flyers started out 1-7 and took the Rangers to game 7 of the 1st round of the playoffs.

Two or three years back, the Caps started out like... 8-0 (?) and proceeded to miss the playoffs entirely.

Its too early to panic. It is however, never too early to female dog and moan and complain. I reserve the right to rant, to be cynical and sarcastic and to vent my spleen as I please.

Not sure what the point is of playing Jean Claude Van Damme again.

Flyers know exactly what they have in the player, at best a warm body that wont hurt you on the ice. Would rather give a young kid a shot in the top 9.

Or continue the trend of giving vets on the decline good minutes when they could be going to youth. Win now baby.

Young kids belong down in the minors, playing. The only reason they recalled him is that they're going on a road trip and they want to carry an extra forward. Vandelvelde may not even play. That's not a situation you put a young kid in.

You understand the concept of taking an extra forward/defenseman on a road trip, in case of injury? With Lecavalier out for two weeks, there's no spare. VandeVelde is unlikely to play unless they have another injury

I understand nothing.

I see his name and get riled up. Who has played in LeCavalier's absence?

Did you know that flying squirrels are indigenous to this area. Saw one last Tuesday. Still pretty amped about it.
- jak521

... and tree frogs. I had no idea after running around the country as a kid. I've seen flying squirrels and tree frogs a ton over the last 10 yrs.
