More then most fans would like to give up. That can be said for every team though.
Myers is young, big and can skate with the best of them. Plus he is under contract for 4 more years at a respectable $5MM per.
The Sabres can be patient and wait for a team to get desperate to make the move. And If that time they are waiting he progresses to be a top Pairing D-man, they can just keep him. - ImThatGuy
He already is. 8th in the NHL in TOI and an even player on a team with an awful goal differential so far. Remember this was all the stuff Christian Ehrhoff used to be praised for? |

I dont think their need on on d with all their prospects coming up shortly. Their need is on the forward ranks. |

You know me. I think the world of the guy. You and I have defended him daily.
Myers is actually very, very good. People should hopefully soon take notice. |

no sabres what your best prospect plus. maybe your whole AHL team for Myers.
- Jurco_28
If Mantha is your best prospect and the entire AHL team, the wings are in more trouble then I thought. |

Actually Boychuk has quite a few PP goals to catch up to Myers. And Myers is 6 years younger.
That being said, youre welcome for talking trash about Boychuk. He has certainly responded well |

You're right, the sensible thing would be to sell low on him and ask for players nobody's heard of, because that always leads to fair trade. - Sabresfan-365
Kind of like selling your house. You list it as low as possible so it sells fast, knowing all well people are not going to try and get it any lower.

B schenn? - jmdodgeser4
I think b schenn is an excellent player but he is too much apart of Phillys core to even think about a trade |

Of course putting your house on the market even though you don't want to move at a price higher than it's value just to see if some sucker will take it is one thing.
Doing it to a player who has already been mismanaged and who you are supposedly building around is another. Players who get that kind of treatment don't usually stick around. |

These "Myers" threads are just yawn.
They want the potential 6'5, 210+ lbs offensive beast for the Top 4 non-elite D man
who hasn't played a single playoff game?
Good luck with that.

Not every prospect lives up to their hype or worse cracks the NHL. I know that so far Detroit has had a lot of success in the draft in years past. From watching Mantha I don't think u guys have to worry about him flopping on u but it is still a risk. The only way to pry a coveted prospect is to get them while they are still early and hit them hard. Just look at what Luke schenn went for. A young and somewhat proven elite prospect out of JVR. Mantha is still an unproven commodity. At this point in the venture I personally think it would be an even trade on paper. Just depends on the direction Detroit wants to go. Smoulder in the wake of datsyuk and zetterburg or go for 1 more run. |
