Agree with you guys... Eakins is THE WORST. Not making excuses for the players though, because they suck balls as well.

I hate this (frank)ing team, and the numbnuts who are running it. They're all a disgrace to the franchise.

Getting mad at the coach is the easiest option. Harder choice is dealing with the real problem. Oiler front office is entirely incestuous. They put way too much energy into reinforcing failure and each other. We have something of a siege mentality or Stockholm Syndrome playing out in the executive suites. They have made so many mistakes they fear doing anything knowing it might end up being another bad choice. They are frozen by fear.

Fire any and everyone from the front office that has ever worn an Oiler jersey. Bring in a highly respected hockey thinker (Scotty Bowman). Give him 60 days, pay him $1m to evaluate players, makes trades, stabilize the on ice product and hire a new GM.

This is not a failure of normal hockey procedures. This is a systemic breakdown. Nothing is working as it should. In medical, financial and business terms this calls for the creation of a specialized ASU (Assessment and Stabilization Unit).

It would be a grave error to allow the current management to make any major changes. Does anybody believe they have the confidence to make any trades or acquisitions that might benefit the on ice product? Do you really think a new coach is going to make any difference? The confidence of the players is shattered. No short term fix will make a substantive difference.

I think it's time to get the "Fire MacTavish/Lowe Boys Club" train going.

Same old. I've become rather indifferent. Don't watch much at all anymore. Don't care.

Have to trade Eberle. RNH is needed at center, Yakupov would be selling low, and Hall is too valuable.

Unless you draft a generational talent, which you haven't, this type of rebuild can take upwards of ten years. Look at the Islanders, you are what you are, they've been drafting high for around ten years.

Pitt drafted 2 of them and it still took them 5 years

How about a different take on that. Fire Eakins, insert MacT.

The biggest mistake that MacT has made in his short tenure as Oiler's GM was the firing of Ralph Krueger and the hiring of Dallas Eakins. I swear, MacT drank the "juice" that the Toronto media (aka. MSM) was serving when it came to the hype around Eakins. Fire the lame duck coach immediately and find someone to take this team in an entirely new direction. I know, I know, we can't keep firing the coach, I get that......but Dallas Eakins is a ridiculous choice to lead this team.
- Sammy Van Hagar

What Toronto media was pushing to have easkins as the leafs head coach?..Noone here wanted it to happen..90% of Toronto fans wanted a exp coach for the team, not a coach that hadn't had a nhl game under his belt yet..Sure Toronto talked to him about the postion but really I think it was just as a common courtesy to him since he did so good with Marlies in his short time with them..He never stood a chance to take over the leafs..

Yeah It was rigged, the franchise would have disappeared/moved if not for Sid being drafted.

Maybe Mike Babcock will be looking for a challenge this off season when his contract is up in Detroit, not sure if he is going to resign with the wings.

Probably wishful thinking
