You're asking for a lot of people to be involved in something that has nothing to do with them personally. The only people that should have any say is the team that drafted him, IMO. They are the ones that should be able to determine whether or not the player is ready to take the next step.

I agree with you. Just seems like it would be harder to do that. Isnt the special exception for kids going to Juniors early a vote or something? Among the league?

Can't imagine the reaction here if Buffalo loses out on mceichel because a team with 1% odds (i have philly in 14th overall pick in my little scenario) won the lottery.

That would be terrible.

I still like the Philly fans that try and tell me they're not upset they lost out on Kane the year they were terrible.

The amount of female doging and moaning of rigging and un fair treatment to buffalo that went on when florida (a team with the second best odds) won the lottery over us was so laughable and borderline pathetic. And we still ended up with who we wanted (well most anyways)

In a draft like this, I could totally see a team like Philly winning the lottery like that.

Edit: on the Kane front, it's even funnier because JVR's turned out to be a pretty good winger...just not for them

It's still not even close, as far as I'm concerned though.

JVR is a good player, but Kane is still miles better.

Let's not forget, Kane scored the OT Cup clinching goal against them too. That had to hurt.

Wow

Kind of late, but I was hoping that two of Risto, Pysyk, McCabe would be sent down.

Buffalo will finish in 30th place.

Carolina will finish 29th.

Carolina wins the draft lottery.

On draft day, Ron Francis walks up to the podium, looks Tim Murray right in the eye and performs the "I DRINK YOUR MILKSHAKE" scene from "There Will Be Blood."

I'm 166 for league rank and 6th in my div. Would probably be higher but I had two players not play any games first week because I forgot to check for injuries.

I do have the most points in my div for week two though.

I've always held that if a player has "it", starting out too early won't hurt him. It might delay his development a bit, but if his career is "ruined" because of that, he never had what it took in the first place.
- buffalofan19

I agree 100%. The only people who want Reinhart sent back down are the people who want Freakorenko up. I say meh. Samson was supposed to be a better prospect coming out of the draft and Darcy muffed the punt with Gregorenko (sp?) by bringing him up for 9 games in the first place. If our 2nd round pick plays 9 games and gets sent back down to play with kids he has to improve his body against kids and in the gym, instead of naturally letting his body heal by taking hits and working the boards against stronger opponents, which is a different kind of sore and a different kind of heal/strengthening IMO.

Hang in there. still early and try to win every week. Seeing the other guys in the div with the big points , you get to see who they played . wasn't that way last year.

Lost 1st rnd of the playoff cause they switched it to the week befores roster and mine wasn't set . Was a bad mixup last year.

So on NHL.com it says Drouin was sent to the AHL for a conditioning stint.

Since my opponent didn't change his roster and I'm up 99 pts, I think I'm good for this week.

That is allowed. But its only for a certain amount of time. Help to rehab the injury and get him into game shape. Because of the injury. Kings has a situation like that. They were able to, I think get Brayden Schenn from Junior or something because of emergency basis. Ton of players were injured. I dont recall the actual situation.

If Samson was eligible for the AHL I'd say sure, why not but he difference between a North American Player and a Russian player come into effect here.

Stereotypes exist for a reason and Kovalchuk kind of set back Russian player about 10 years when he bolted for the KHL, even if that weren't the case you have to handle them differently. Had Gregorenko been sent back to junior his first year and played in Ro-cha-cha all last year I'd say he should have made the team this year but maybe in the long run his mis-handling has made him a better player. Reinhart is your top pick in 1000 years. I say keep him here for the learning experience and after you trade that bum Hodgson then you can call him back up if he really impressed the way we think he did.

Either way they won't really make an impact til next year.
