If Samson was eligible for the AHL I'd say sure, why not but he difference between a North American Player and a Russian player come into effect here.

Stereotypes exist for a reason and Kovalchuk kind of set back Russian player about 10 years when he bolted for the KHL, even if that weren't the case you have to handle them differently. Had Gregorenko been sent back to junior his first year and played in Ro-cha-cha all last year I'd say he should have made the team this year but maybe in the long run his mis-handling has made him a better player. Reinhart is your top pick in 1000 years. I say keep him here for the learning experience and after you trade that bum Hodgson then you can call him back up if he really impressed the way we think he did.

Either way they won't really make an impact til next year.

I think so, my opinion only. There is a slight reluctance toward russian players in general, don't tell me there isn't and he is an example of how your star russian can just up and leave. Maybe I read too much into it but he definitely set their status back a little.

this isnt about being politically correct and im not offended and never get offended lol you can make all the racist, 9/11, rape jokes you want i really dont care. That "NHL or Jr." Rule has to go.
I know its all about money. But if thats the case, the NHL team should be allowed to send a player to their AHL affiliate once they decide to hand a player a contract like Grigo or Rheinhart.

You can use the player on your NHL or AHL roster but you only get 2.

Rehab assignment after he fractured his thumb. It is was a real injury unlike the Grigs is out of shape so we're going to send him down for a conditioning assignment bs they tried last year.

Rehab assignments are allowable under the transfer agreement but it can be no longer than 10 days I believe.

So say Reinhart this year.
