As much as it displeases me from a fan stand-point (I was raised a Bruins fan - I know I know but my Dad's favourite players were guys like Orr, Espisito, Johnny Bucyk, Cheevers etc ), it looks like the Habs are doing well - not only that, they've been quite entertaining to watch with their up-tempo skating style

I didn't realize that Hockeybuzz was comprised of mostly overly-sensitive Christians

If you liked the Jim Jeffries religion musings, also check out David Cross' work or one of THE classic comedians George Carlin

Strangely/sadly, the immediate thing I think of is cancer , in that the guy must smoke about 8 packs a day . I know it's not supposed to be funny but he seems to espouse that 'live-for-today' kind of perspective)

As far as his comedy, haven't seen much but really liked it

Tampa fan here. This is off-topic, but wanted to throw it out there.

Damn it all for sending Schneider to the Devils. The Devils have had our number for years and Schneider is not helping matters any. He looked stellar in that last game against us.

Damn it all for sending Luongo back to Florida - Florida is weak and we have their number, but having Luongo gives them some talent between the pipes, which makes our lives harder.

Thank you for Garrison. I like what I see from him.

Question : What does the Vancouver fanbase think about the Sedins now? I was a big fan of the Sedins years ago and I was convinced they would lead Vancouver to a Cup by now. Are Vancouver fans losing faith in them?

Thanks and see you soon.

I was disappointed to see 2/3 of those guys go, not gonna name names

Some fans are *cough*Vantel*cough* but most realistically see them as slightly less than PPG players now that they are in their 30's. Still world class talents though and wonderful human beings

Don't worry, it won't last with the Devils, eventually they'll realize they're the Devils and stop scoring goals.

Luongo isn't as good as he used to be, his skills are diminishing, and he seems more interested in his Twitter than being an elite goaltender

You're welcome for Garrison, he was overpaid and badly used here, and he'll do better in the East where it's wide open compared to the West

The Sedins are fine, they won't lead us to the promised land, but they almost got us there and they'll retire as HHOFers and we'll be all the poorer for it when they leave.

See you Saturday

Yeah, the Schneider trade is gonna help NJ big time. They roll 4 lines, despite a great top 6 on paper and usually are a good posession team. More Schneier starts(and less Brodeur starts) along with potentially more OT/SO wins will make them a surprise team this year IMO. I was shocked that some people had a team like FLA ahead of them this year in the East. They'll be closer to NYR than LA IMO. They paid a solid price to lock up a franchise goalie who's gonna keep them int it every year.

Don't worry about Luongo as much, Florida still sucks despite adding him. He's better than they had last year but he's declining. As a TB fan, you have nothing to worry about when it comes to the Panthers.

Garrison is a decent #4 d-man, he's kind of a guy who's OK/solid in many areas but outside of his slap shot he doesn't stand out in any aspect. IMO he needs a more skilled d-man to play with on a second paring to be at his best. I don't really trust him as a shutdown guy and he's not much of a puckmover either. Basically he's a PP weapon with his slap shot that can eat up minutes on a 2nd pairing. I wasn't too upset to see him go to be honest, but he definitely improves your team since you gave up nothing off of the roster to get him.

Sedins look refreshed and healthier this year and a much better fit in Willie's system , but it's hard to tell only 2 games against Calgary and Edmonton. I don't expect them to be PPG guys until I see more of the same against better teams. For now I'll stick with my 60-65 points projection, but the early signs are promising. The PP production is key for them IMO.
