Streit and Del Zotto are more then capable of generating offense with their legs. - MJL
I thought they did it with their sticks and, a bit less, their skates. |

Agreed.
And additionally, it is my opinion that this is one of the worst collections of defensemen in the NHL this season. - bradleyc4
I disagree. The Flyers defenseman are middle of the pack. |

Nonsense. Everyone knows he always shot the puck into the goalie's chest. - jmatchett383
....or he just shot it wide.....

Is there really a good reason why they can't do both? - Tomahawk
Berube is not saying he is going to ignore the shootout, but he wants the team's focus on fixing the issues that need to be fixed that are a problem in the actual game. |

Guess what Craig? There will, at times, be tie games at the end of regulation and there will be S/O's unless the league decides it is a bad idea, which won't be happening anytime soon. So until the rule changes, spend a little time dwelling on it. Please? - 77rams
He could run shootout practices all day long and it won't make the players who aren't Giroux good at them. And it would probably make Mason and Emery worse cause they would get in the habit of facing 1 good shootout guy and a bunch of scrubs. |

It will be interesting to see if the team starts shooting from everywhere as Berube wants. - MBFlyerfan
Voracek, Giroux, Couturier and even Read could all stand to shoot the puck more, as he said, especially off the rush. He was dead on about that -- these guys have great shots, they could all stand to shoot to score, because the way the game is today, it's not selfish to fire the puck, because the best pass is a rebound
It's not like it was, when goalies were less capable, defensemen were slower and you kinda knew goals were coming. To me, now, you'd better be shooting with aggression, because you just might not get all that many great looks |

Two stats from that So article that surprised me. Turns out we do have a 4th line SO specialist after all.
Blair Jones is 14-27 (52%) lifetime in AHL
And Moulson is more skilled than I thought.
Matt Moulson (BUF): 14-28 (50.0)

He is a force on a pretty good team. Makes it easier when not the focal point. Remeber he wasn't doing much and whining in Columbus. Just shows guys need the right situation |

seems like it, if they were good on so's they would be 2-2 instaed of 0-2-2, im glad they addressed the shootouts in a serious manor today, there is no reason that we cannot be dominate in the shootout with the guys we have...g, jake, vl, coot, read, etc. |
