Despite the fact that it's a dump, the atmosphere that gets going in that place when the fans show up is phenomenal. I was there for all the playoff games 2 years ago and it was unbelievable to see. So loud, so much energy. I have no issue with the Brooklyn move whatsoever, but it really is a shame that the Coli won't see an energy like that anymore.

It's worse than a dump. I had never been down in the under belly till then, and it was not pretty. I think it's awful that they couldn't find a way to build a new place. The fans obviously can support the team. Then again, I was born and raised in Montreal, and a huge Expos fan, so I know how it feels. From what I was told, there will be express trains from Mineola to Barclay's, so that shouldn't be so bad for those of you who will continue to attend games . But I will miss hopping in the car an hour before game time with my son, and buying a ticket on the spot. So easy.

No place sounds like that anymore... too wide, high, etc. It literally sounds like it is going to fall appart.. and it just might.

I was. Was an incredible atmosphere. Tailgaiting all over the lots from morning, fans into it. My son's team was on the ice for a shootout between the 1st and 2nd, and the fans were even into that!!

Really was. I'm usually down low, but the team bought seats in 335 for everyone. Even louder up there.

Many of us believe that they will be back in the building in a few years. Same group running both arenas... just makes sense. When done the rebuild the Isles are contracted to play at least 6 games in the new NVMC... so it makes sense to make it full time once done.

The only move I can see the isles making is a top 4 D-man again... if they can get one more in the mix it would alleviate the fear of having guys like Viz and Dehaan getting hurt so often. So if Buffalo is really Salary dumping a Tyler Myers I could see the Isles trading 2 D-prospects like Pedan, Mayfield, Czurczman for him..I could even see Reinhardt in the deal b/c it would make them a lot better now.. and he is young, signed and still has upside potential. (I am curious to see how much sht I get for this post.. lol. I did not like Reinhardt lack of aggressiveness.. I am sold on him.. still love Pullock).

We added two and hickey is certainly a passable third pairing guy. Myers is going to cost a lot more than a couple of prospects. Buffalo has no reason to move him.

I would prefer to bring along pulock and reinhart and keep the rest of our assets in the system.

You don’t move them to a place where they’re going to get 50 mil guaranteed, where the marketing department is going balls to the wall to try and bring in new fans in that area to suddenly up and move back within a few years and now alienate all the new fans you’ve brought into Brooklyn, to try and go back and reclaim the ones who you moved away from.

That’s not realistic. I don’t care that it’s the same group, that makes zero sense.

They have a ton of young Forwards and Centers on the team and in the AHL/Juniors. Yak trade makes ZERO sense. Anders Lee, Strome, Dal Colle, Collberg, Sundstrom...etc.

I have a rebuttal but I'm so tired of defending my theory on this I can't do it. Let's just say I still believe they're coming back and you can't change it!

It is only four games into the new season and enjoy it but teams will start to adjust to the Isles lineup and play better against them as well. May take a few weeks before we can evaluate etc. Too soon for more trades. Likewise BRI has only played two with a home at home his weekend against Albany. So may be a while before we see Lee or Reinhart back here.

Yakupov is 5' 11" 185lbs. Is he a high skill player or a guy that just developed faster? We have some nice wing prospects already. Also impressed with how smooth Conacher looks out there, definitely has some dimension to his game and still developing.

Reinhardt is certainly going to garner a discussion... especially when they already have his brother.

Whatever works but I have a hard time seeing Cizikas/Martin getting more ice time than Nelson and more comparable to Tavares and it being effective against a team like the Pens not to take anything away from the Sharks. Hopefully Capuano adjusts.

He seems more willing to than in the past an he's got more horses now. Also hope the second and third periods were a sign of Martin and Clutter turning their game up a notch because they did look good after the first last night. Have to put some faith in the coaching staff at this point until they get proven wrong with what we've seen. If I can say that I don't think anyone else should have a hard time doing the same? lol. Going to be another big test tomorrow.

According to my daughter, there is one every day. Currently, I have tix to 4 of them, though at the NVMC.

As I said I think it will end up being both Arenas for a while with Barclays being the main one (as contracted)... and then over the course of a few years switch the other way as the Barclays is NOT made for hockey.

Then once in Brooklyn, the fans that they are able to get to support the team, will not follow them back to Nassau County IMO.

I'm pretty confident that the "6 games in Nassau" is not contracted. I think that was more of an idea that was floated than a contractual obligation.

I think the team will lose a lot of fans with this original move to Barclay's. I just don't see people from Long Beach and the like, schlepping to Brooklyn for an evening game on a weeknight. Then once in Brooklyn, the fans that they are able to get to support the team, will not follow them back to Nassau County IMO.

If you check out the schedules on the LIRR website, you see that it's actually a few (like 5 or less) minutes shorter than going to MSG. I live in Queens now but I spent my entire life up until a few months ago in East Islip and the rides from Babylon - Penn and Babylon - Atlantic Ave are almost identical. I'd rather drive 30min but it's not so bad. Take the responsibility of a car out of the equation and it almost evens out. But yes, I don't doubt the team will lose some attendance from older die-hards that are emotionally vested to the Coli.

Ugh, my son has a 7:40am at Iceland tomorrow morning, then the Mite Jamboree at Cantiague Sunday morning. Throw in my daughter's hockey and travel soccer, my son's baseball and flag football, and add a pinch of birthday parties, and I should be in solid shape by Sunday evening.
