My prediction was pretty close... Oilers get shut out and the top line gets 11 points.... I fell short but not bad.
Miller was sharp as hell.
Kassian needs some confidence soon or its going to be a tough season for him. He was horrible tonight.
We are a 1 line team. No way around it and no surprise. Im ok with being patient this season. I dont think anything could actually disappoint me when its all said and done. - boonerbuck
I thought the third line was buzzing ( far out playing the 2nd line) with Kassian being one of the more noticeable players on the ice. Hell, WD had him out there for the last few minutes of play, when was the last time that happened?

I thought Kassian was pretty good tonight, other then his penalty. I don't know if I should be worried or not that the Canucks didn't put down a touchdown. |

Bit of a snoozer - VANTEL
Actually agree with you ( ) The game didn't really have any sort of eb/flow or many exciting plays. Additionally, I guess we got caught up in terms of the whole 'Oilers Must Win" this game hype, which didn't live up to its billing.
Alas, two points is two points |

I love seeing EDM fail so hard at Hockey. Gonna be a shame to see another top pick go there. |

In all seriousness Benning and Linden look like geniuses thus far. Vrbata is the perfect fit for that line.
And no, Im not going to get ahead of my self. were 3-0 against two terrible teams. whoopdy fukking do. but, the entertainment value is where it need to be. WD is doing what this city wants.
Also Apperently im attending a historic night tommorow against the bolts. head office gave them to me for free, so i have no problem with. But I think they're going to gt ripped. |

I think Maple Leaf Management is throwing jerseys on the ice themselves. They will never get a real third jersey option so they want to inspire their fans to throw theirs in frustration so, in the following 15 minutes, the sheep will buy a new one. |

Is that not the truth! Vrbata has been great --- although I think he was too causal and dipsy-doodled on that late third period powerplay.

Maybe they will give Torts a try. But Eakins has to go. "Fault" is unimportant. Can you imagine Taylor Hall now has 5 years experience and is still at a Zack Kassian level? Clearly someone is not getting all they can from this group or someone has overestimated the rebuild process. |

If I were them I'd pony up for Eric Staal.
Only if he's available of course.

I look at the Canucks and wonder who can they move to make the team better now, but not sell off the future? Truth is that they can't do that, because its either 1) No one wants what we have on the team, 2) Not enough depth on the main squad at defence or top 6, and 3) Our prospects won't land us what we want unless we give a few of them away. The oilers aren't hampered by these problems. They have enough prospect depth and a few players in the top 6 they can trade away for impact vets, but their management is incompetent.
Honestly, if they traded Yak, Eberle, and a few of their prospects, they could fix many of their problems. Bring in a experienced coach, and they'll start trending upwards.
I'm a hockey laymen and I understand this, but their management doesn't. How scary is that if you're a Oilers fan? |

He's got nyquist and no one. I've got Datsyuk, Zetterberg, pavelski, steen, Vrbata, Gaborik... It's not even close. |
