I think Akeson overall has more puck skill, but I think McGinn is better around the net because of his size. Akeson's problem is that he is small and he's pretty slow. I do not see Akeson ever becoming a big scorer- it could happen, but I think he's limited by his lack of size and speed.

I don't think Akeson is slow. He's definitely not a speedster but he's not necessarily slow - an average skater.

Montreal is skilled and fast, and has gotten bigger, but I still kinda wonder if they are just a little too small

Ryan Johansen's holdout looks like it wasn't crippling so far -- he has 3 goals, 3 assists

Only saw one shift of Hartnell's -- nothing special, either way. He's playing with Anisimov

Wingels Tierny and McGinn with a fantastic shift holding NJ in their zone for a while.

They outplayed Laughton in the pre season and in camp. And the Flyers wanted to start Laughton in the AHL. That may change after a while. And you're comparing 4th line NHL players to a young player who was a first round pick that is projected to be more then a 4th line player in the future. There's a difference between talent level, and who is a fit for a role on a team.
