Kassian for Kadri. Book it.
- bloatedmosquito

The Toronto media with Kadri is weird. The guy gets ripped more then any player and he deserves much of it. But the guy scores a beauty and they hand him the art ross

I think Nonis flew in to trade Mattias and Markstrome for Fransen and Reimer and then trade Matthias and Markstrom to Fla for LU

I would take he first deal in a second. I don't like franson's game so no to the second deal.

Eyes will be on Stamkos, but watch out for Filppula. He has been pretty quiet so far and he is due to break out and light the lamp.

Bishop will have his hands full with the Sedins.

This should be a great game to watch.

Good luck (but not too much!)

Are Vancouver fans as surprised as I am that Garrison is getting no PP time and lots of PK time? What do you folks think of that?

Franson has decent offensive instincts but the guy just goes to sleep in his own end

He great defensively. A little surprised with no pp time with his cannon but with Stralman, Hedmen carle etc better at moving the puck it makes sense

makes us a pretty small and soft team to play against. Gardiner has been a healthy scratch this year as well and that d-core in Toronto shouldn't be hard to crack.

Plus i don't see Edler waiving.

would love to see a Bonino ++ for Kadri. Bonino is solid, but i would much prefer Kadri's upside. Bonino's 1.9mil for the next 3 years makes him pretty interesting for other teams.

Mr. Garrison isn't super physical, but pretty handy with his stick and seems to break up passes very well..... a useful skill to have on the PK. His shot on the PP is great in the sense that its hard, but it rarely hits the net

Loved watching Filippula and Samuelsson when they played on the same line in Detroit.

Would have loved to have those two on the canuck's 3rd line.

I don't think much of Garrison so him not getting PP time is weird but not surprising due to the talent TB has in their lineup.

I'm not sure I'd move bonino straight up for Kadri. Kadris production is marginally better but he is one of the worst defensive players in the league

I hope not. Don't mind Kassian being moved if the new regime doesn't see him as a fit but I'm not a fan of Kadri.

Why? I think he's a talented scorer. Great hands and doesn't mind going to the net. Played in a pressure cooker like TO and he's young too. Defensively he needs some work but he's young and has time to learn.

Great numbers in juniors. Great numbers in the AHL. He's played 182 games in the NHL and has 115 points.

Only legitimate problem he might have is personality issues and he dives. That can be coached out of him.

Now that we have Willie as a coach I'm more inclined to take a chance on young talent that might have personality issues. Willie seems like a communicator. Those coaches usually do well with the young guys.

ya i would be inclined to take on Kadri as well because of WD and the fact that we have the Sedins. I'm sure Kadri has heard from the coaches in TO on what he needs to do defensively, but the fact that the #1 line in TO cheats offensively makes it kind of fall on deaf ears. Why should he do it if the #1 line isn't.

The only reason I can think that would cause Nonis to fly back 2 time zones to Edm.
would be to have a second lunch.

I could see Nonis exploring a trade for Markstrom and a depth player and then maybe helping Benning on D depth.

At the very least, we see Benning and Linden letting Nonis know we are open for business. I imagine it will be the same with Burke as well. The spat was getting in the way of a healthy working relationship with the league. So few had respect for Gillis. He was more like the poor (frank) in the prison showers who fell for the "you dropped the soap" trick over and over.

Gardiner is the guy I'd be focusing on... why the Leafs keep crapping all over him is utterly beyond me. In both of his full NHL seasons, all he's done is play over 20min/gp and put up 30pts... plus in his one playoff year he had 5pts in 6 games. If they're dumb enough to part ways with a guy who's just 24 and already accomplishing that on such a mediocre team, then I hope Benning doesn't hesitate.

Just send Kassian back the other way, so Don Cherry has a new good ol' white, anglophone, Ontario boy to kiss on the air.
