Not a "I told you so" post. Most here know it is a long term trade and not a short term one. Of course I don't like the trade either way but this is just an update. Too early for big conclusions.

Hartnell with his 4th assist and led his team last night in ice time for a forward. He is doing well in CB as expected. RJ with his first assist last night and continues to look good on the PK.

I didn't know Hartnell had four assists, but I do know he had two terrible defensive breakdowns in the 'Bus zone that directly led to goals--one even scored by the one, the only, Jamie Benn.

Gonna take more than B Schenn to pry Myers from the Sabres

Kind of scary.

I watched the game on an iPhone while drinking a lot of alcoholic beverages.

That said they did look good. They seemed to be in charge of the game in terms of play and did a good job of controlling the tempo.

Breakdowns nearly killed them. Mason deserved better. He had as much chance on the goals Dallas scored as I did.

Jake Voracek is a damned beast. He's starting to take games over.

Trevor Daly had probably the easiest 2 goal night of his career on the PP. Why bother even putting a body on Seguin? I mean he's nobody right?

I never understood the Emery for Mason swap in the 3rd. You are down 4-2 to start to the period, that should be all the motivation you need to start playing well. My initial reaction was Berube threw in the towel and said "(frank) it, there is always Tuesday's game".

I don't know how much truth there are to the rumors about the Flyers picking up a D-man now, but the sooner the better.

C'mon man. How in god's name can the coach be disappointed in the play of the defense, HAVE YOU SEEN WHO PLAYS THERE? I've been a flyers fan for 40 years, The Defense is below average for god's sake! You have a few overpaid players and a few under achieving ones, and this has been happening for years now. As long as the Flyers CONTINUALLY trade for, and sign OLDER FA defenseman, to stupid amounts/lengths, their going to be bad on defense I dont care what anyone says. The PATHETIC trade for Pronger is sill haunting this team. Sbisa,Lupul and 2 1st round picks for a 34/35 year old guy on the downside of a career. PATHETIC!!!!

I just hope Hextall does something. No need to be " patient" with the lineup. Make a move to improve this defense. The goalies are going to have to be admitted for psychiatric care before road trip ends.

I wouldn't mind seeing Hexy inquire about prying Gormley from Arizona. Guys like Bogo and Myers are getting close to being overpaid with a lot of years left on their deals in relation to production. Haven't we been down that road before?

They miss Coburn a lot on the PK. A lot of extra SH minutes for lesser guys is not ideal.

Pulling the goalie to wake up the team is standard practice.
He left Mase in after four bad team goals against NJ and that did not work out.
