This year's Anton Stralman.
Woefully under-appreciated defenseman. - bradleyc4
He can play on the PP too. I don't believe Stralman ever did that for the Rags. |

No, but I think it was more because he was behind McDonagh, Girardi and MDZ. |

He was also behind Moore and Staal. I think Stralman does have offensive ability. Could have been a righty/lefty type thing or maybe AV wanted to make sure he had a solid pairing to throw out after a failed PP. |

Sekera led the Canes in PP time and PK time last year. Unless you include JML's 35 games. |

No, but he will get it retired in Nashville when he's dealt there for Shea Weber.

I firmly believe Shea Weber will be a Flyer at some point in his career. It may not be until he's 38, but it will happen. |

Nemeth out till the playoffs courtesy of Umberger's skate.
That's the real question to me, not a 5 x 5 extension which I would happy to give him if he played as expected for several months. - Feanor

From what I heard, the Flyers and Carle had a handshake agreement prior to the end of the season.
But once Wideman signed his huge deal with Calgary, Carle's agent reneged on the handshake and went to the highest bidder in free agency.
You can argue, however, that the Flyers shouldn't have put themselves in a position to have to wait to officially sign Carle until July 1st of that year. - bradleyc4
Well first of all, I have not seen any evidence of a handshake agreement. Now that doesn't mean it didn't exist. I just haven't seen the evidence of it, and I doubt that there was one.
In the business of player contracts, there is no agreement until the contract is signed. And the agent works for the player. Not vice versa. If Carle wanted to accept a speculative handshake agreement with the Flyers, then all he has to do is tell the agent that's where he's going to sign. So knowing that, casts doubts on what you heard went down.
My speculation is that the Flyers decided to go and chase after Suter and put Carle on the back burner, which led to Carle pursuing other offers.
Tagging space can be worked around to create room. And I beleive that was just the reason floated to the media to cover that the negotiations with Carle weren't finalized. |

What tangible evidence besides FBI-level recordings could exist of a handshake agreement? I do believe that's why it's called a "handshake agreement" since nothing is made available to general public knowledge without inside leaks. |
