thoughts?
To Philadelphia: Jordan Eberle, Jeff Petry and Tyler Pitlick
To Edmonton: Brayden Schenn, Luke Schenn and Robert Hagg

No thanks. Eberle isn't very good. If Chief is afraid to use Matt Read as 1LW, he'll hate Eberle. |

i think eberle on the flyers would be mid 30s in goals each year. |

So being the Flyers won in Dallas, it looks like VDV is going to stick in the lineup over Akeson? So dumb. Akeson never even got a chance. |

There's a defensive side of the game, too. |

Jordan Eberle is a good player but I'm with you, I feel he's overrated. He's lived off his world junior performance a long time now. I suppose you could say the same about Brayden Schenn but I suppose I'm one of the rare fans who are perfect happy with what I've seen these past three seasons and unwilling to give up on him after five early regular season games. |

I agree, I think the Flyers need to look at better two way players in the future. |

true.
but its not as though you are trading away any defensive stalwarts, such as couturier.
i think whatever 2 way play you may be losing in the schenn brothers, you are more than gaining a net positive when the offense is considered.
(unless hagg is a much better prospect than i realize. that could tip the scales a bit) |

I'd be more open to Perron & Petry for the Schenns and another piece. Pitlick is a marginal prospect, and Petry is due for a new deal in July. Perron is a much smaller cap hit than Eberle, plus he's a natural LW. - Jsaquella
Agreed, Klefbolm or Nurse would be a nice + but potentially too much coming back.
Phi: Petry, Perron and Klefbolm
Edm: Schenns + mid/low pick(s)
Of course if Hall is available I listen up good son. |

Jordan Eberle is another Right Winger, except he's older Schenn and smaller then Schenn. We're strong on RW. |

I think the Flyers are going to be patient with the guys in their system and not look to acquire a young defenseman.
But if not, Marincin is the guy from Edmonton that I would want. He's more NHL-ready than what they've got now. |

Only works under the cap if you demote Schultz and only carry 6 D. And that leaves $5K of space. |

I think he'd cost a helluva lot more to acquire. He's not a reasonable target, imo. |

I love Reader, but he's not a 60-70 point player. Eberle has been.

yeah. the position preference is a factor i could see too.
if jake and simmonds are both cemented at RW, and eberle needed to play that as well, i could see a nonfit there.
but then why all the bobby ryan talk from time to time? i know cherry hill yada yada. but still. wouldnt that prevent the same conundrum? |

Jones is the one really keeping Akeson out. VdV will be back in Allentown as soon as Vinny is fit. |

Matt Read led the Flyers in even-strength goal scoring per 60 minutes last year.
Put him with Giroux and Voracek, and don't bury him with defensive zone starts and he's easily a 60-70 point scorer, imo. |

yeah perron is an interesting one too. the smaller cap hit is a plus too.
eberles deal is the only thing that gives me pause. - stayinthefnnet
Trading Hagg was a bigger pause for me.
Both Perron & Eberle are mediocre( to be kind) defensive players
But the bigger cap hit, plus the additional 4 or 5 seasons that Eberle is signed for gives the Flyers less flexibility when they have to sign Voracek & Couturier in the summer of 2016.
Petry will be due a new contract as well, which means his cap hit will rise dramatically this summer. |

First injury to a scoring winger and Akeson is hot for teacher. |
