Either way I'm amused with how ppl dismiss Laughton as this definite chking only 3rd liner. I think he's gonna be better than that. - JoeRussomanno
I think he'll put up decent numbers, but he wasn't the kind of producer that Schenn or Couturier were in juniors. |

Just saw that they changed their mind. I was gonna go to bed, now I'm going to watch for awhile - Jsaquella
Enjoy, he was fun to watch with Halifax, it should be the same now. |

Just wait until he's on the line with Stamkos on a regular basis. |

His last year he was, the years prior to that Oshawa had veteran teams and asking Laughton to add significant offensive contributions wasn't needed. |

Depends on the position they will asking him to play, he's usually a winger but last season with Halifax he was at center more often. |

Not really. Schenn was better than a PPG player his entire WHL career. His worst season was one where he scored 71 points in 66 games. That's comparable in terms of PPG for Laughton in his best OHL season (Laughton scored at a 1.14 PPG clip, Schenn's was 1.07) |

All Oilers so far.
And then Drouin stepped on the ice and immediately generated two chances |

I'd like to see him have a good year, too. Get back to being that fun loving lunatic he was as a rookie |

I expected the Bolts to look better. Thus far Edmonton has looked better. |

The only thing I've looked at is PnT. I only plan on watching Flyers games this season, really :/ |

I've seen this out of the Oilers; they can play with anybody in spurts. But like most bad teams, adversity will hit them and they will not respond
Doesn't matter if they score first or not, either

True, even without Hedman, I suspect Tampa will tighten up and get an Oiler breakdown and score. |

I know, my point was for much of Laughton's OHL career they had other players that they leaned on to do the heavy lifting & didn't ask or put him in the spots one would expect for a player to produce more offense. |

I get that, but even when called upon to contribute more offense, he still failed to match what Schenn & Couturier |

He was only asked to do that last year and those were not only asked but put in the spots from the start or more often, not exactly something I'd compare.
But have at it. |

So I'm back reading a bit and see u guys discussing trades. Something that caught my attention was this idea that If Laughton is moved up he won't be much more than a 3rd center with little offense. I find it amusing that his offense gets such little credit when he's been putting up some good numbers with the phantoms and yet schenn and coots were rather average down there a couple years ago during the lockout, - JoeRussomanno
Schenn has 45 points in 40 AHL games, and Couturier had 28 points in 31 AHL games.
