If Ghost does it and make me gasp in panic (but god damn it's so fluid), then Streit doing it is not preferred. |

NHL announces Kings' Slava Voynov suspended indefinitely pending NHL investigation after Voynov arrested on charges of domestic violence - BulliesPhan87
It'll be interesting to see how the league handles this following the NFL's butchery. |

He's not a great defender, but man would we be fubar without him. - Hextall271
I wonder what they'd do if Streit got hurt. Would they bring up Ghost or just allow Amac or MDZ to play the point on the PP. |

Probably the latter. I actually am intrigued and terrified with MDZ on the top PP unit. There would be a lot of goals, I'm just not sure which net they'd be going into. |

I would be intrigued as well. I'm not sure it can get much better than it is now though. |

One of the big criticisms of the Flyers from national media is they constantly have been turning over their core guys. I guess this is somewhat old going back to the frick and frack and Bryz deals. Homer and now Hexy have seemed to turn it arounf and have avoided trading any of the young core.
I am happy about this, I think BSchenn and Couts especially are going to turn out to be very valuable players in the future.
Hearing the trade rumors about BSchenn makes me worried.
I have little doubt he will thrive with another team and we will regret it.
If Hexy wants to try and trade off the expensive vet contracts that is another thing, but will be harder to do.

They won't bench Streit because they need his shot and PP skills, but he has made some awful plays so far. Some bad turnovers and the Benn goal where he drifted from the crease to behind the goal line leaving Mason alone with Benn were very frustrating to watch. - Marc D
that surprised me, he knows better than that |

Not at all. I happened to see that this weekend. And when you mentioned an elephant dancing, it was an opportune time to bust it out. |

For me it depends on what is coming back the other way. After reading around a bit it seems the flyers are dealing from a position of strength here. They aren't shopping him, other teams are shopping for him.
If they can get back a young guy who is a top 4 right now, with the potential of being a top 2, I do a deal.....but let them come to us......

If Flyers management and fans is as good as they believe, you want Berube to lean on his starter heavily and he has. However, Emery performance against Montreal has been the best showing so far. I'd never suggest that Emery become the starter but he has to get one of these back to back starts. To me back to backs are nothing you mess with. Get them both in. |

I truly don't believe those trades are what hurt the Flyers though. It was losing Pronger. Losing him forced the Flyers into a series of bad decisions. They trade for Grossmann and Kubina and re-sign Grossmann and lose the available tagging space to re-sign Carle. I don't believe Grossmann is a bad player, but they don't make that move if Pronger is healthy.
The team then feels desperate for defense and trades JVR for Luke Schenn. Still desperate for defense and someone who can run the PP in case Timonen retires, the team trades for and signs Streit.
Desperate for a two-way defenseman at the trade deadline, the team trades for and signs Amac.
Pronger would be 40 this season. If not for the injury, I still feel he would be an effective player. Maybe not an all star level player anymore, but certainly way better than we have now.
Because of his injury, the Flyers lost Carle, JVR and six 2nd or 3rd round picks. |
